I agree with the quote because when at school you have teachers, different students, even some faculties that can throw any open idea to you when you need it, you're surrounded around open minds who willingly help when they can.. But out in the world when on you're own it's up to you to help find that motive and ambition within yourself to help come ideas for you because you might not always be around someone to get help.

Hannah julius

I agree, good point, You have to think for yourself.

Dominique hemphill
3/4/2015 08:08:41 am

I completely agree with your comment. You have to be creative, curious, and optimistic to think of new ideas and new ways to do things.. There won't always be someone there to hand you ideas or for you to bounce ideas off of.

Cari Armstrong
3/5/2015 12:22:36 am

Teachers don't always help you find new ideas in school. Most teachers make you go out & get it your self. Your not always go to have a silver spoon in your mouth . Where they have to tell you what & how to do things your going to have to try & do it yourself

Bazille Banks
3/5/2015 11:52:46 pm

I agree with Katera. It is up to you to take advantage of the opportunity given to you, so you do need to be able to think for yourself.

Arreon Rose

I agree it's really up to you to find the motive and ambition within yourself to help come ideas.

Jalechia Armington

It's true that in the real world you have to think for yourself but that's not necessarily a hard thing to do. Even when you're at school those people are there to help and not think for you, you start thinking for yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning.

Derrica Anderson
3/6/2015 12:28:39 pm

I agree with Katera Greer because no one is going to hold your hand once you're on your own. What progress will be made if you're always depending on someone else to do the thinking for you?

Keiara Brown
3/6/2015 02:44:36 pm

I agree with Katera once your out in the real world it's up to you to find motivation, no one isn't going to be there once you get out of high school to guide you step by step.

hannah julius

That is true. You can always learn in a world as big athis one. There is no excuse. You just have to want to.

Dominique hemphill

Being a senior in high school, success drives me. Teachers and other students surround me with open minds and teach me new aspects of life everyday. It is true that you have to look within yourself for guidance in the real world because only you know what's going to be the right path for you.

Cari Armstrong
3/5/2015 12:18:26 am

It is easier to find new idea outside of school because a lot of things can influence you. Ideas come from the simplest thing. A walk in a park to a moral on the concrete. Anything can inspire you just have to see it your self

Demetrius W

I agree. The world is made up of many things. Anyone is optimistic to a numerous amount of ideas.
I believe people expereince new ideas on a consistent basis, just from watching tv.

Tylen hughes

What drives me ? Everything really I try to get something from every situation in my life good or bad. One of the biggest things that drives me though are the people before me I see those people who did great things in the world and I think to myself I can do that ten times over .

Demetrius
3/5/2015 10:06:57 am

I'm a very ambitious person. If I figure something that I want to do, I will pursue it. I won't stop if I set my mind to obtaining what I want. Anything that occurs in my life, I try & take it positive or make positive put of it. My family really motivates me a lot. I'll tell myself I'm doing it for them & get it done.

I agree with this quote because, what drives me is going to school everyday knowing that i will leave at the end of the day with a new piece of knowledge each day. But the main thing that drives me is graduating. I go to school to everyday to gain more ideas and general knowledge on how to be successful after i graduate highschool. I also talk to a few teachers about ideas that would benefit me beyond college and possibly maintain a positive balanced life. Although, you may refer to teachers at school for guidance, you cannot forget that you are the main controler of you body and you have what it takes to also positively motivate yourself when there aren't any teachers around. In contrast if you get ideas from the outside world and teachers, you will no doubt be successful as long as you remain focus.

Areyon barron

I agree because you have to want it at school or not, people may give ideas but it's up to you to let it motivate you

Tytouna Dunagin

I do agree with the quote. While at school there are so many people there to help you and push and give you many ideas. When you get out in the world its totally different. No one is there to constantly push you, hold your hand, and give you ideas. You have to do it on your own.

Ruben Rojas 5th period

I think you are correct on what you stated, that when your at school people give you ideas, hold your hand, and pushes you but I don't agree on that the quote is 100% true. I say this because not everybody has there hands holdded during high school or have there brains pumped with foreign ideas.

Symphoni Davis

I agree, you haft to motivate yourself in life. You won't have anybody here pushing you like you did in high school

Shaniah jones
3/6/2015 02:24:11 pm

I agree. This is your life you have to live. You are in charge of how much knowledge you gain. Wether you grasp the information that is being passed down is all up to you. No one is going to be able to lead you every step of the way because you have to be able to wanna become better & increase daily.

Ruben Rojas 5th period

This quote from Bill Watterson is true and false ,depending on the individual; Like most things in this short life there is usually two sides including this quote. Take me for example its rare for ideas to be trusted towards me but its is completely different for a few of friends. So some of us have ideas constantly thrusted at us in school and are forced to find a inner motivation after we leave highschool. While others experience a different course of events which is why this quote is both correct and incorrect depending on an individual's situation.

Jonathan Overstreet
3/5/2015 11:37:30 pm

i agree with this statements because when you come to school you are supposed to learn new thing not just seat there and not learn nothing.when you come to school thousands of ideas or told to you everyday and its our job to study and learn them ideas thats going to help us in the future

Bazille Banks
3/5/2015 11:49:53 pm

I completely agree with this quote. Based on past experiences, I can say that I do face bew things everyday. However, what I do with them is up to me. Life is only going to be what you make out of it, so the choice is yours. You can't limit yourself. You have to be open to exploring new horizons, and you get a new opportunity everyday.

I agree with bazille and this quote because yea your teachers give you new ideas and make you think outside if the box almost everyday, but in the real world life is what u make out if it, and only you can see new and creative ideas for your future and I feel as if you have to surround yourself with positivity and expand your horizon so that you can be able to think beyond your own thoughts.

Keonta Runnels 4th

I agree with this because you learn new things everyday in or out of school. Life is only going to be what you make out of it. When you learn new things you get different ideas. Your going to think different from eveeryoneselse so you wont have the same most of the time. Remaining focus is the main key to being successfull.

Siera Salas

I agree with the quote. Being around different people everyday and seeing other peoples point of views on things can change an individuals opinion. Everyone learns as they go wether its at school, home,or work. Each and everyday you find who you are . Learning new things can change your whole mind set on things. We grow each and everyday.

I strongly agree with the prompt due to the fact of opening you mind to visualizing things you weren't seeing before, being able to explore with your mind will not only benifit you in a good way but open new doors in the world as well, as far as out in the worl there will be motivaters and others that will try to hurt you in the process of doing good things with your future. Life is a obsicale that you mentally and physically have to stay prepared for.

Areyon Barron
3/6/2015 04:55:48 am

I agree because at school teachers motivate you and help you with ideas but out in the world you won't have people to motivate you so you will have to motivate yourself to come up with ideas because you are on your own. For example at school teachers motivate you to go to college and have a idea of what you want to do but in the world no one is going to motivate you, It's all up to you

Titanna
3/6/2015 05:01:04 am

I agree strongly as well because you have to have motivation to bust you up in your career. Furthermore, not only just in your career but in your everyday lifestyle style. There has to be something on your mind that will make you say "Yes i can do it!!!" You have to believe.

Nicholas Masters
3/6/2015 05:07:12 am

What drives me? Really not just school and my education, but the other important things I want/need to do in order to be successful. For instance making sure I graduate, go to a college, and after college have a good/ descent job and start the beginning of my journey. It all takes patience in order to do what YOU want to do in your life, but if your not putting any effort in something YOU want to do, then nothing is going to come true for you. That's why its always important to do what you so in order to succed.

Juan De Leon

I agree with Nicholas because people should understand that it requires patience and dedication in order to live your life the way you want to live it.

Juan De Leon
3/6/2015 06:19:46 am

I agree with the quote because you can't expect people to just give you the information you need all your life. You have to learn to do things on your own. After high school, you need to understand that you are not a little kid anymore. You are old enough to speak for yourself and get the information you need on your own.

Jalechia Armington
3/6/2015 06:37:00 am

New ideas are things that happen every day in the real world whether you're in school or not. Something as simple as taking a different route to work is a new idea for that person. People create the illusion that new ideas are only things that are life changing or helps many people but in reality they can be little. Small things like the idea to try a new brand of chips or different smelling soap are new ideas. Every day situations call for new ideas and ways of thinking you don't always have to dig deep within yourself to find them.

Destiny King 5th

It is true that you have to seek opportunites for your own motivation once you have left school. As the quote says, "things are thrust at you every day" while in school but once you arrive in the "real world", no one owes you anything. It's up to the individual to seek beyond what's in front of them. Much can't be found while staying in your comfort zone.

I agree with this statement but what drives me is self determination and seeing other doing better. Opening yourself to new idea gives you views of what can be your motivation and your drive to keep going. After high school student are going to need that self motivation for college and also the real world."Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time"-Thomas A. Edison.

I agree that once we depart from school we will have to seek our own opportunities. After we leave we would not have the resources that we are used to. Some people tend to use this dilemma as a way to get better in life.Others just lazy around and cause problem for other. this effect cause other to also fall. Even without the resources that has always been provided for use we can get better.

Kyshawna Thomas
3/6/2015 03:56:49 pm

I agree with Maryann the opportunities once presented in school won't be there anymore once we leave. And its matter of taking what we learned and had in school and using it or being lazy and believing it can still be just given to us.

Shaniah jones
3/6/2015 02:27:20 pm

Once you enter the real world, no one will be able to tell you what you need to do & not to do. It's going to all be up to you. You have to already have it made up in your mind that your going to take new information in. You could never over educate yourself. You must get out & get it on your own.

I agree with Jacorian, you must think for yourself first

Taylor Terry
3/6/2015 03:34:03 pm

I agree with the quote because at school we have teachers, administrators, and other students to get ideas flowing. As a high school student we are independent but still rely on our teachers as resources. In the real world there might not be those people there to help guide us on homework, school work or even advice. As young adults we have to hold ourselves accountable for our own ideas and mind sets. It is all apart of the process of growing up.

Roy Prado, Period 3
3/6/2015 03:43:34 pm

People do not need to seek an opportunity to find motivation. People need some, even just a little, motivation to seek an opportunity. Ideas are not only thrust at people when they are in school. Motivation can be found anywhere such as the environment or other people and/or their culture. There are many people who one day see something and they change their whole life because that is what they decided to do, because they found something they like, or love, more than what they were doing before.

Tremont Allen

Exactly!A person that really wants to succeed dont need school classes to motivate them.

Kyshawna Thomas
3/6/2015 03:54:14 pm

Going out into the world is not easy and unlike school opportunities are not laid out in front of you. So when going into the world one has to seek out those opportunities for themselves. If the drive is there this may come easy. Nothing is handed to you if someone really wants it they have to go get it. People including me have to have something that pushes them and also have the mindset to go out and do it. Opportunities are there its a matter of are you willing to take it and do you have the drive to accomplish it.

Aaron Miranda
3/6/2015 03:57:18 pm

When your in school you have multiple opportunities to get help from other people. You have teachers that take time to help you. In the real world, You don't always have the comfort of a teacher helping you. You have to use what you know and try to find motivation out of it. You'll have to find something to push you to keep going not relying on the teachers or students that you had before.

Tremont Allen

I disagree with this quote because I think of creative ideas almost everyday whether its school, work,or anywhere else. Some teachers are a big help at school, although some dont do there job well.I believe it depends on that person's lifestyle and how interested they are in whatever it is. I also feel that students will reflect from teachers who dont do there job. Teachers and school cant make you find inner motivation especially this generation
