I understand where they are going with this, and I think its mainly national security. Tik Tok is owned by China, which we have a bad reputation with in the past, and with everything going on about a possible World War 3. It makes sense, China could be using the app to gather data on U.S citizens, for some reason. And we as a community around Tik Tok, are kind of bad. It can be pure brain rot to be scrolling through Tik Tok, but like a day later, you'll see the most creative thing you've ever seen in your life, and be inspired. It's very random for what you get. Which is why it could be good to just get rid of the entire thing. There are other social media apps for people to share their influence, that aren't owned by China. Plus Tik Tok, has been adding restrictions upon its users that make it almost identical to other copies. Like Youtube Shorts, or Instagram Reels.Overall will be ok without it.

The ramifications are that TikTok could be banned, there have been security threats and by banning TikTok, a lot of classified information cant be taken or leaked, the people who will be affected are the millions of creators that have made a living from posting on TikTok. I can understand the point of view of the people that voted for national security reasons. The consequences of this action will be a great deal of push back against the ban. The reason for this push back could be for many different reasons. A couple of reasons could be one some people could like TikTok or what it has done for entertainment, or some people could feel that a ban on something like a social media app could be an infringement on peoples freedom. The large majority of people that will be affected are Gen z and Gen Alpha with this app being catered towards mainly an audience of teens and children.

I can agree with that. Lots of tiktoks are literally just brainrot, providing you actually nothing other than keeping you occupied for a given amount of time. Sure, they can be pretty funny, the brainrot content, but I can see it making the generation worse. While the ban of TikTok doesn't affect me personally as I have never downloaded the app, I see why it would affect many people. Sure, a lot of what tiktok has is just brainrot and mindless videos for a quick dopamine hit, but a lot of tiktok also has people providing valuable and important information about important topics of discussion. It is no different than instagram or literally any other social media. It's primary audience is young people, the future if you will, so what they learn whether from tiktok or not, can be used to determine the future of this country. There are still other social medias where you can pretty much look at the exact same content, so it's not like its ban will be some earth dividing, sea splitting situation. If there is to be any change to the app, maybe make it more limited in the stuff you can see if they're so worried about what China will do. Though, I'm sure people will just bypass that by using a vpn or something.

I see no problem with the app. The app is used for entertainment for others around the world and a lot of people make money off the app. Everyone will be affected by this situation and this shouldn’t be happening for a app that is use for entertainment and that gives people opportunities therefore TikTok is something really big and something everyone loves.

The video discusses how tik tok is going to be banned. Since people are worried about the fact that personal information is being hacked and leaked out. However we also need to remember that its social media and people could lose their jobs.

People say this is violating their freedom of expression and they are disappointed that one of their amendments are being suppressed. The ban of TikTok can affect a lot of people who make their mainstream income off of tiktoks. A lot of people would now have to try to move to a different app and try to become an “influencer” on there, but it might take time they don’t have.

But America is more than likely doing this for security reasons because of recent tensions, but in my personal opinion the government is probably just trying to cover something up.

TikTok has become the most used social media app ever since COVID. Many people ended up getting popular from Tiktok. I think if Tiktok was banned it would have a negative effect because so many people use that app for different reasons. From learning new ways to cook, clean, or even fix things
