The brown haired woman is justified in what she says because she isn't coming from a place of ignorance. She knows that every job is important no matter how insignificant it seems to someone. The black haired woman only seemed to care about how she looked with what she job she had, which isn't important in the slightest.

I feel as if the grey haired woman only cares about appearances. She thinks just because someone else says that is the lowest of the low then it is. The brown haired woman is very well educated in her argument to her child. She is justified and very well explaining how having the mindset of the grey haired woman will possibly get you no where.

Ricardo Lynch 3A
8/23/2022 01:01:20 pm

I agree with your response, but I believe that there's more problems than just appearances. It's the job that the man is doing that makes the lady in the blue outfit respond in that manner.

I do agree every job is important because it can help u gain a sense of pride and self satifisfaction by reaffirming that you can support yourself in i also feel like within work from any job you can earn money to cover bill are what you need your leisure time in some people eyes they dont see that they depend on other thing then getting a job like getting a disabilities in a wide range of job through out the community which i do understand about a disabilties u get paid ever month but how willl u be able to keep depend on that .

8/26/2022 09:48:45 pm

I agree with your comment, because compared to the woman on the left, the other woman has on a suit and looks professional. This helped me infer that she also has a professional job and is looking down on the man cleaning the street because of his appearance.

Alyssa Green

I agree with you because the lady in orange hair is assuming that the service worker is unimportant because they work in a low wage job.

A. Green 3a
8/26/2022 10:46:53 pm

The lady with the brown hair is right to tell her child that the lady in orange hair is wrong for judging somebody based on their job. There are a lot of people in this world that think that if you dont work in a high paying job, then you are insignificant and lower than. However; if we didn't have these "insignificant" jobs, we wouldn't be able to function properly as a society. For example, trash truck people or custodians or lunch ladies/men. If we didn't have these people doing these jobs then some people may go hungry and the planet would be more trashy than it already is.

Kevin Jacinto 6B

the women in the blue outfit is showing her kid a man simply trying to do his work and cleaning but she is judging him for cleaning she thinks he might not have an education but he might just be doing a side hustle to get more money the lady in the brown hair is telling her kid not ot igneret and judge people based how how thye are and that all jobs are jobs

I feel like it was rude of her to judge because a janitor duties are responsibiliies can include general cleaning in keeping it maintained and good way they work much as hard as any other job do they vacuuming , mopping, sanitizing restroom taking out trash that a move ment of time so yes i do agree it was rude of her

Elizabeth Adame 2A
8/24/2022 09:18:05 pm

Melissa Contreras 6B
8/26/2022 09:01:39 pm

I feel as if the women in blue thinks low of the man not specifically because it's an outside job. She thinks badly of him because she doesn't see his job as a highly valued occupation. However the lady in yellow understands that all jobs are meaningful to society and are just as important as other jobs.

A. Green 3a

I think the woman on the left is right because all jobs are important and needed and somebody has to do them. The woman no the left is also right because some people get payed more for doing dirty or labor jobs that don't need you to study than those who study and don't. The woman in the right didn't give good advice because it was negative advice.

Janelle Melgar 6B link

Ricardo Lynch 3A
8/23/2022 12:50:24 pm

The lady in the yellow outfit has a justified response because she is aware that every job has a contributing factor that helps create a functioning society. On the contrary, the lady in the blue outfit seems to look down upon people with lower-end jobs. She's unaware of how important these smaller jobs are to our society.

Bralin W 6B

Janelle Melgar 6B link
8/23/2022 05:42:31 pm

The second lady at the bottom is justified. I say this because the first lady is basing her observations based on the looks rather than what they actually do. While the second lady knows that there's more to it than just looks and she knows that smaller/ lower jobs are still good.

Rylie Brown 7B
8/24/2022 12:22:52 pm

I see where you are coming from just because someone may look a certain way doesn't mean that they don't try or put in enough effort. That's like saying if this person has raggedy clothes on then they're poor but that might not be the case.

8/23/2022 09:36:46 pm

I think that the lady with the grey hair is wrong for telling that boy that he gon end up like other lady across the street. the best way to say that was how the other woman in the orange used more of a good way. she was basically telling him if you work hard enough you won't end up working on the streets. in all the lady in the grey is setting a bad mindset for her kid to follow.

Rylee W. 7B
8/24/2022 12:23:55 pm

I concur with this statement because this can lead to the child's opinion and mindset of people that work on the street for the rest of his life.

8/24/2022 12:26:08 pm

Exactly.

C Castro 6B
8/26/2022 09:59:52 pm

I completely agree with your last statement, because whenever a grown up fills a child’s mindset with unnecessary and false statements, the child will take this information seriously and will grow up thinking it’s normal to think this way, and it will probably result in a negative outcome.

Bralin W 6B link
8/23/2022 10:01:13 pm

The lady in the grey is only worried about what other people think or assume about your job. The lady in the yellow is well educated and explains to her son that every job in the world is essential to how the economy and businesses of the world work. It also means that it doesn't mean you have to look a certain way or have the best job in the world to be successful.

Mackenly Mitchell
8/24/2022 06:19:44 am

I believe that the woman on the left has a great point, because she explains how critizing someone's work ethic and worth based off of there social status shows how close minded a person is. The woman on the right believes that a person's occupation determines their worth and how diligent they are. She attempts to teach her son a lesson about studying and working hard, but in doing so she degrades another person for their economic conditions, while knowing little to nothing about their life.

the lady in yellow is right because its not right to judge somebody because of their job

M Tomah 6B
8/24/2022 10:58:31 am

The woman with the brown hair is right in this situation, simply because, she talked to her child in a respectful manner. She explains to her child that all jobs are necessary and that belittling someone for the job that they have is wrong. She teaches her child not to become like the woman on the right, who is disrespecting the guy cleaning the street.

K. Romero

I agree, people should not grow up to be arrogant and think that not all jobs are important.

C Castro 6B link
8/24/2022 11:24:41 am

The comment from the woman on the left is a justified response. It's a valid response, because instead of filling her child's brain with a negative mindset, she is teaching her daughter to appreciate every career. I also agree with her response, because I think that one of the most important things you could teach a child is to stay humble. This lady is doing so, by stating that "all jobs are necessary" and this helps the child understand that all jobs are important in some way, and the salary does not matter.

Roberto Arpero

The woman on the left is justified for her answer because it's not studying that gives you the job you have. It depends on how much effort you put in not studying. Every job is important and takes just as much effort as the next.

The woman on the left is more justified in her advice because she gives examples of why everything has a reason and how it makes the world a better place. Christopher Castro 7B

the lady on the left makes a good point and knows how to raise kids the right way

Saniyah Joubert
8/24/2022 12:24:11 pm

I also believe the brown haired woman is justified in what she says because she thinks every job is just as significant as the others. The Black haired woman responded that way because of the job the lady is doing and what she is wearing. Which is what most people also do.

K. Romero 7B
8/24/2022 12:27:50 pm

The woman with the yellow shirt is justified with her advise, because we do need people for every job not just the most common jobs out there. There are many people out there with the same mentality of the lady with the blue shirt but when people have that mentality they forget that people like the lady that is picking up trash helps keep her community clean. if everyone got higher paying jobs or jobs at a building/office there would not be people cleaning the streets and our world would be polluted even more and it would be hard to travel. And not to mention how the kid will be pressured from now on because they just wants to make the mom proud and not end up like the lady picking up trash.

Victoria Taylor 7B
8/24/2022 12:30:24 pm

I find the women on the left to be more justified by her answer because studying is not what gives you your future career. It is the amount of effort you put towards something. If the lady on the left can judge the man by what his job looks like, then she doesn't have any position to make conclusions on what his education is like.

Paola Pina 7B

Here are my thoughts on what both women said is I feel like the woman with the black hair was completely wrong about the man cleaning the sidewalk because just like the other lady with the orange said we need people like him in this world. If everybody wanted to make millions there would be nobody helping clean up the world we live in. That man can have a full education and still help clean up the stress or side walk because he wants to make the world a better place.

I agree with you because you should never judge somebody. I say that because you never know where they come from and what struggle they came from to come where they are today. The man probably has two jobs and cleans up trash as his side job and still makes twice the money.

this post really opens my eyes to how people may think, and judge a person on something that is needed for the world. when it comes to real life some jobs are bigger than others and the jobs u think aren't as big as others could cause the biggest different

I agree with you because people in this world can be so judgemental and so careless towards others. You can have a low class job and probably still make as more money as a higher paying job makes. People just don't understand because their selfish and stingy and think that if you do something better you are going to get a reward.

I feel like the brown hair lady is in the right in this situation. I say this because she gives more reasoning on why all jobs are the same. The other lady just tells her kid that if he doesn't study he is going to end up somewhere, where he doesn't belong with no reasoning to support her answer.

I feel the second lady is correct because you dont hav to have the highest paying best job. As long as long as your putting in an effort a job doesn't matter. You shouldn't ever settle for less but if that all that you can get at the moment stay patient and wait for bigger and better oportunities.

I agree with the lady in the brown hair because all jobs are important and should be treated equally. The other lady shouldn't be judging somebody based off their job. It might be a job that he likes doing.

I agree with the lady in the brown hair because all jobs are important. The other lady in the blue shouldn't be judging somebody based on their job.

The woman one the right is justified by her remarks of the lady on the right by her opinions on how a simple job so impacts can affect everyone else. The lady on the left believes that education is the only way to be guided into a career path. It´s all about social roles that the women on the left is trying to be justified for and it´s wrong, inhumane, and umoral.

I agree with the woman with brown hair because she is stating that if you do not study and work hard you will not be able to achieve what you are looking for. The other lady she is just acting a fool and judging the person in the back ground. Start thinking more critically rather than judging.

i think the lady in yellow is right because all jobs are just jobs you get paid reguardless shoudn't feel better than somebody just because there picking up trash and your not.

The lady in the grey hair thinks just because she is in a financial situation where its better than other she thinks she is batter than them. Thats called ignorance, and I strongly agree with the women in yellow. Because, everyone's job has a purpose in society in not they wouldn't be doing it. Some people need to really be more appreciative for others who seem to be doing "weird job", because those people make this world a better place.

The point of the ¨comic¨ above is that every job has a meaning it helps you keep in place because without a job you would just a a bum. Even though your financial situation might be horrible at least your able to put food on the table.

I believed the woman with the black hair thinks just because the man doesn't have top teer job that he didn't do well in school. Which isn't true you could be the best student ever in school and still get a low paid job. The woman with brown hair is teaching her child that the lady with the black hair is just being ignorant and that you shouldn't be that way towards other people.

    Mixed Ink

Mixed Ink is our class blog, the window into our souls. It was designed to improve students' writing, critical thinking and communication skills by giving them a platform to provide meaningful content based on their interpretation of what they see.

Although the students receive a grade based on a rubric for completing this assignment, they are not graded on complexity of thought. This is a place where students of all levels can freely, confidently and creatively express themselves and their opinions in a nonjudgmental platform. They are required to respond to and critique each other, but degradation, slander, lewdness, etc., will not be tolerated.
