I support the idea that your complexion has an enormous impact psychological development and growth. In today's world, you get be bullied and judged for just about anything, and that could be very harmful to a person's mindset. If people are constantly told that their complexion, skin tone, and/or body figure aren't fitting societal standards (in reality, it is really the opinion of the person judging the other), they will begin to immediately think that they aren't beautiful/handsome in their own way. The judging and bullying that people do to others can cause a lot of psychological problems such as low self-esteem and in worse cases, depression or even suicidal thoughts. Khoudia Diop endured some of the same issues when she moved to France when she was a teenager, and at first she did not handle it well. She, as well as other people who have encountered situations similar to her, described it as physical bondage and a huge struggle. Although she found a way out of her troubles, bullying and judgment still happen, and you decide what to do: learn and grow from it, or sulk in the sadness and stoop down to their level.

I agree with Jordan because this happens on a daily basis towards a lot of people.

I agree with J. Wegscheider. In addition, my skin tone is in the middle of dark and light because of the different races in me, however I am still black and still receive discrimination to an extend and just because someone is dark does not mean they can not be beautiful in-fact that is what makes someone special. When others around see a white face their reaction is usually calm and relaxed however when a black person is seen negative opinions are usually accumulated leading me to conclude the psychological development varies with the history of your race.

In today's world people get judged for every action or any type of movement you are judged. Skin tone is a common perspective people judge light skin white dark skin whatever the case may be you are judged in today's society. Most people don't understand how somebody's life or emotions are , some people could be going to depression or other situation and people talking about them can make it worse.

I disagree that your complexion affects your psychological development because as a human being we are the same and even when there is a discrimination about your complexion that doesn't change who your are. The only way I see it breaking you down physiologically is if that person has mental or physical insecurity or a illness. The make up of a person is not determined by another person nor that person themselves, the idea of your complexion affecting a person is like saying because of orange fish is orange its gonna end up retarted. Your complexion does not represent you as a person it is your physical features, but on the inside you can anything. Your psychological development depends on the person state of mind and can vary from person to person. Many people suffer from insecurity and depression because of their state of mind and experiences but not because of their physical appearance. The complexion especially for darker black people makes them beautiful because it shows their nationality and where they come from. The inner beauty of a person color is not sufficient to justify there state of mind, as it only shows their beauty and appearance. Some people may be very insecure about their looks, but the truth is that that only comes from the way of thinking and the experiences they go through, which may lead to psychological thoughts but not completely take away from their ability to think of things in a new way.

The complexion that you have about you have an impact in your psychological development because it affect how you look at you. People let this affect what they think and they are not comfortable anymore and they could be afraid of other peoples opinion.

The complexion that you have about you an impact in your psychological development because it affects how you look and what people may think about you . Their not comfortable in their own skin and will do anything to cover up their real true natural skin in order to not get judge .

Your complexion has a big role on you because there are many people who get bullied and teased about there skin color. Some people be afriad to do anything or say anything because they think that everyone is against them .Some people kill there self over things because they think being light skin and a little light is the very pretty. In reality all skin color is pretty

Complexion is a big role in the psychological development of individuals. Some individuals may take negative commentary on their appearance and allow it to consume them. Meanwhile, there are others that allow the judgement of others to strengthen them. As in terms of "everyone is against them", there will always be an enemy, but there will also be good even if not always seen. Lastly, all amounts of melanin is beautiful. Color should never define who you are.

personally I feel that a person complexion doesn't change their state of mind because your mind doesn't dictate how you should feel about your complexion, it depends on the persons level of insecurity.

I agree with this person because people get to the point of killing themselves. Some people can't handle getting talked about their complexion.

Your complexion does have an effect on your psychological development. Many children are teased at a young age. Usually when something of a great significance occurs at a young age whether it is good or bad it traumatizes you in the long run. Insecurities begin to become a problem for these people that are being teased. Some will let this problem get to them while others won't.

Complexion may have an affect on your psychological development. It affects you in the light of what society may think about your complexion, resulting in low-self esteem or in some cases, suicidal thoughts. Complexion is your cover and many are liable to "judge a book by its cover". Additionally, the constant neglect from society may either push you down or help build yourself. The construct of society is all a typical person knows and to be deemed as "unacceptable" in any terms is quite demoralizing. To find a new path that disregards what a large portion of society preaches, takes a large amount of valor that brings a positive psychological impact.

Your complexion alone does not necessarily have an impact on your psychological development, it is how you react to the people who comment on your complexion that affects it. Every mindset is different as well as every reaction. To some people the commentary from other allows the person to either feel confident or insecure about themselves. For instance, Khoudia Diop used the negative comments that were directed towards her to empower herself and the message she was later trying to convey. Her complexion contributed to the mindset she had already begun when she was younger since everytime she was bullied she addressed the situation with love and a smile. Every mindset is different and so is the way people take in things that determine whether or not complexion takes part in the psychological development.

Your complexion will have a huge impact on your psychological development. For example, if you're dark skin it will impact you because people will tend to bully you of your skin tone. Some people kill there self over things because they are not pretty. The person can either listen to the bully or ignore them and have faith in themselves. Color should never define who you are.

I agree with Matiyas opinion on the skin complexion subject. People tend to get pointed out for being darker, and it could also cause them to get bullied. I've been a witness to see people with a burnt charcoal skin colo get ridiculed. Most of them are not confident or comfortable in their skin.

Your complexion will not have a psychological on your development because it just depends how you react to the people who comment on your complexion. It just matters how you react to it you can get all mad about it let it affect you or don't listen to it, and go about your life. People are going to say something about your complexion that's how society is nowdays. They will judge you based on complexion before even getting to know you. It just all comes down to if you psychological strong not letting negative comments get to you.

Your complexion has an impact on psychological development if you pay attention to the comments that others do to you. As a person you need to control how the opinion of others affect yourself, because they are no the ones that may have problem later on. For example the simple comment that someone does to your can make you feel better, or it can make you feel bad. A better way to deal with this is loving yourself. Instead of having the bad comment affect you, make it a part of you and embrace who you are truly, because no matter what other say you are beautiful.

Your complexion does have an impact on psychological effect, but to a certain extent. Although racism is said to be past us, it is in fact still alive up to this day. Many people with light complexions are given the impression that they are superior to others with darker skin tones. Many of these people said to be above others treat people with darker melanin like they aren't human, which may lead up to bullying, as this may cause an effect on how certain people take in all that negative commentary. Everyone has a way of expressing how they feel, not all of these victims may become insecure, but there will be a few that will hide their pain so they won’t appear weak. This can lead to psychological issues, because they know the problem will never stop. They know that this will follow them through their whole life, it is their choice whether to take it in and let it consume them or whether to ignore it.
