We are the future, but how can we be successful if all we do is be on social media and party. As much as we work we think that everybody owes us something. When in reality we owe ourselves to become successful. Technology can help or break us depending on how we use it. We depend on our technology everyday for everything which can cause us to use it everyday at all times. When in reality we need to explore the real world and discover what we were meant to do in life and how can we change the world.

Us as teens, do not think that we are entitled to success if anything new age technology has allow us to really push the envelope and grind harder to reach success. Of course the struggles may not be the same. But we indeed do have a struggle. I just think it's a sterotype to put that stigma on teens that are growing up with technology we work as hard if not harder than the people in the past.

Technology is millenennium teens"me". We are the future but how can we be successful if our whole world revolve around our cell phones or other electronic. Teens spend more time on the phones then with then with their friends and when teen are with their friend all their activities or conversation is about something on the phone. We should be more focused on our future and being successful. We depend on our phones more then we depend on their self. We should really find out thing for yourself so we can depend on ourself more often.

This is true, because teens of today are dependent on cell phones. In fact, most teens spend up to 68% of their time on their cell phones.

The children of today believe that success is not earned, but given. Success is not easily achieved, it takes hard work and effort to be successful. It is implanted in the minds of the young people of today that they do not have to work and should be given everything for no good reason. Entitlement is the cause of overly dependent people. The effect of feeling entitled to everything is more difficulty adjusting to independent living. Therefore, the statement above is true.

I agree I do feel that our generation always think we are entitled to something when really we are not.A teacher is just a resource to guide us not someone who gives us all of the answers to things

I disagree because everyone doesn't believe that success is given. Competiveness and greed are human traits that make it hard to succeed in any aspect of life. It does take hard work and effort to be successful and although some teens may fall victim to thinking success is an entitlement, all teens do not.

In agreement, kids do think that people need to give to them, even if they don't do the work. With all honesty, you have to work hard to reach your goals and not just dream about them. There is a lot of truth to what you said, hard work and effort are a must to achieve success. I have kids in my class periods, that think a teacher should pass them, even if they do not do the work or study for it. The effect of entitlement can cause a people not to like you because they are stubborn and ignorant. Lastly, I agree with you, that the assertion is true about teens today.

Entitlement is having a right to something. An entitlement is something that our generation thinks we are suppose to have instead of working hard and actually accomplishing a goal/task.Technology has limited our thinking process and is dummying down our learning instead of working hard for it .Technology is doing nothing but putting our minds in a small little box.one thing our generation needs to remember is education is earned not given therefore we should learn as much as possible while our education is still free.

Teens are not bound to struggle harder than previous generations because the thought of success being an entitlement. Teens are bound to struggle harder because technologies and curriculums are more advanced in today's time. If anything, teens work harder today more than in any other time in the past because it is getting more competitive and difficult to succeed in the work, education, and economic field. Also, other countries are beginning to become exposed to the things that are available in the United States; leaving less room for success because everyone strives for success. No one wants to fail.

Many teens of today feel as if they have the world in the palm of their hands. Compared to the generations before us, the way of life has gotten much easier due to given luxuries such as technology.
Many feel as if millennials live their lives with everything being served to them on a silver platter. While this might not be the case for all, it is for a vast majority. We have grown up believing that there will always be an easier way to complete any chore, which allowed us to believe that earning success shouldn't be a very difficult task. In a way, technology has helped increase this way of thinking, due to false realities seen throughout social media. Even though technology may be beneficial, we fail to realize that we tend keep our minds caged away from reality, as if we live in a fantasy world. We fail to believe that success is earned with hard work, which is something that a majority of us tend to ignore due to the fact that we have grown and conditioned ourselves to be lazy individuals. In fact, we feel as if we are entitled to be successful, even if you don't lift a finger, which causes us to feel blind sided once we enter the real world which reasons for a struggle in the near future.
The quote is simply reminding us to not live our lives being controlled by certain distractions. In order to become successful, we must be willing to do what it takes instead of always relying on everything and everyone else to do it for us.

Outspoken as always. Older generations believe that we are born with a silver spoon in our mouth. Now, us millennials believe that we should be handed everything on a silver platter like we are owed something. We are not necessarily owed anything and we should not feel entitled to anything other than hard work and the willingness to do what it takes to become successful as you've stated.

We must put our mind on one ultimate goal and stay consistent with it to ensure success. But with the generation of social media, it is hard for teens to do that. There are many distractions that pull us away from accomplishing our goals. Teens try to maintain an image and spend valuable time on social media; time that could be spent on getting them closer to their goals. The beauty of success is shown in social medias, but the hard work to get there isn't. This makes it harder on teens who want true success.

It is significantly a greater challenge to focus one ones self in this era of technology. We are a popcorn generation and we have the attention span of a squirrel. It is evident in how we, as teenagers, can not sit in a room without using our phones. Many use it as a coping mechanism. As a way to appear busy or occupied and close themselves off to many opportunities to be exposed to the world beyond the virtual aspects.

I agree. We are so caught up in what other people are doing or we want to let others know what we're doing when we shouldn't be distracted and keep ourselves concentrated on the future. There's always something to do out there we just gotta find it. Because we never know when a simple act we do can give us a quick glance on what our future could or will be

Our generation has access to more technology than ever before. We can look up any question and get a ton of information on any topic that we want. I don't think that this is always a good thing. We get a worksheet we just look up the answers, we don't know the answers for the exam we just look it up. What is this teaching us? Are we learning anything? Are we just relying on technology for all of the answers? This has become such a crutch for us we as a generation know less but have more power. When will we realize that knowledge is the key and that we are stuck in a black hole without technology.

I defend this assertion because teens these days want success to come to them instead of going after it. Technology is distracting us teens because we are more focused on social media and texting then planning out our future. Teens think they're lives is revolving around their which is making them further and further behind in life. Technology can be a good thing at times because we learn easier with it. Teens(us), which is important, our phone or our future?

Dreams don't work unless we do. It's not enough to simply believe in our future. But, to actually put in the work and effort into changing from where you are presently to where you want to be is enough. Us, Millennials, feel the sense of entitlement as if we are owed anything but we are not. We should all be aware of the events in the past that have shaped the present and work together to create a future instead of waiting for success to magically fall into our hands.

Success is not something that can be entitled to someone. Success is something one must earn with pure hard work, determination, and there is much more to list but cannot be summed up in one post. When asked what success is, most people's answers include the words "money", "decent job", and "happiness". But where do all these answers stem from? Hard work. If you want money, you work to obtain it. If you want a decent job, you study and work to obtain it. Even if you just want to be happy you have to work. No one can promise you success but yourself.

This generation is the future and we have so many opportunities to be successful but with everything we do now a days on social media makes us a "bad person" to the world. Everyone has their opinions so there's nothing right you can do in everybody's eyes. But we are aware that we want to be successful no matter what the world has to say about you but how can we do this if we're on our phones, posting stuff that ruins ours or others future. Success doesn't come from everyone knowing what your doing every minute of the day, it's hard work that gives you that happiness, money or just a simple future.

"Rewards are not an entitlement, they have to be deserved, they have to be earned", quote by Murad S. Shad. In this generation of young people, they feel that everyone owes them and that they do not have to work for success. The youth today are spoiled and have no values or manners. If they do not receive what they feel is entitled to them, they become rude and disrespectful. Perfect example is football player Johnny Manziel, he acts as if he is entitled to have success as a pro, but his attitude and conduct off the field is horrible. Another example, is students in class that want teachers to give them a good grade, but they don't do the work and get mad and blame the teacher when they fail. The influential materialistic society has made a powerful impact on the youth, and they have the I want it now syndrome. The youth of today need to learn gratitude and understand that anything worth having, is worth working for.

These days the newer generation do hold succes as a titlement instead of a source for a working effort .. The elder generation went through things . There triles pushed them to work for their rights to be equal .. In order to receive something they never had they had to do what they have never done . The newer generation don't really have that same push . Life is much easier for us therefore since equality was entitled by birth we feel that success is as well ..

The picture and the statement that follows are quite literal actually. The generation I am in is so focused on materialistic objects and glueing their eyes to a phone screen, rather than involving themselves in the world around them. We tend to see education as obligatory, and don't believe in the things that actually matter. This generation constantly inveigles their way around, and believes ignorance is a true matter of living. Happiness isn't key anymore, being popular or accepted is. Success is an opportunity, not a given advantage, but this generation believes that everything should just be given freely.

Teen are bonded by chains with the use of technology. The moment you get over a million views or shares your considered famous. A generation before us would say, that they didn't have access to a lot things, so everything they did they worked for it. And since everything is in arm reach we feel we shouldn't reach because we're to lazy to do it. The world is becoming more acceptant things and we're to stuck on our phones to see reality.

In this generation today, kids feel as if they have it easy. Technology is at their hands with anything they want at a click of a button. Nowadays kids don't know the meaning of grinding. Putting forth the effort to get where you want in life. We shouldn't feel entitled to anything but hard work and dedication to get where we want in life.

We've become so dependent on this beautiful meshing of metal, glass and technology that we've forgotten the beauty of a thoughtful conversation and human interaction. We have literally stopped speaking to each other because we are so caught up with our phones, text messages and technology, in general. We need to be connected every minute of the day, every day of the week, and the minute something goes wrong in our perfect technological world, we lose it because the thought of being alone with ourselves is terrifying.
