I agree with this quote because if we keep on doing what we have been doing, then it is most likely that the result will be the same as always. It is just like the cause and effect. If the cause is the same, rarely will the effect change. Nevertheless, sometimes, even if we keep doing the same things, the situation also affects what the outcomes will be. So even if we always do what we’ve always done, we might not always get what we’ve always gotten. :D

It is true because if we keep doing the same thing, we would not improve because we are going to stay at the same place. Sometimes if we always do what we did before, we are going to get the same result, not improving and will stay at the same place or level. It is important to try new things and get out of one’s comfort zone so that the results one get can be exceptional. If one decides to do something repeatedly without challenging oneself to try new things, the result wouldn’t come out as outstanding. An example could be a student who always studies the same way by doing a mediocre job. If he decides to not change his study habits, he might be ending up with a much lower grade compared to studying the other way by putting in much more efforts.

I agree with you that doing the same thing means more practice which might yield better results. If we are trying to accomplish something, maybe practice makes perfect. Reading your comment also make me think of another quote which is "don't reading a book over and over again when you already know how it ends." Even we can't change the ending of the book but in my point of view, reading the same book over and over again and will make us understand more about the story, how it end, and why it end that way. The ending will always be the same but maybe your feeling and your thought won't.

While I do like this quote, I have to agree more with another commenter, that just because an ending doesn't change doesn't mean that there wasn't any change at all. When you reread books, you often pick up on new perspectives and nuances which can change how you view it, same is with life. For example, at first a person may find partying fun, but after a while, it just becomes tedious and time-consuming.

"If you always do what you've always done, you're going to always get what you've always gotten."

This is more situational. It's true that continuing a certain behavior will continue to get you the same result. However, results can build up into something bigger. If you did the same thing with a little twist it could end up slightly differently as well. The quote applies, but situationally.

I don’t think if you keep doing what you’ve done, the result would be the same because it may help you to become better at that particular thing by doing it over and over again. However, it is true that sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone and try to experience new things to improve ourselves. So, I think it depends on the circumstances and what you do.

I like how you've pointed out that by sticking with the same ways of doing things, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get what you've always got and never improve since it may help you to become better at it. It is also true that it depends on the situation and what you're working with. It is best to look at the situation and try your best to improve yourself in every step you take.

Seeing your response made me think of the quote by Allen Iverson saying: "Not a game. We talking about practice. Not a game." Doing something over and over again is practice, and of course when you have done something over and over again for thousands of times you'll become better. Therefore receiving different results from the first time you did it.

I agree with your response, repeating something over and over again is essentially perfecting that action. It can be called a practice, but once you change what you do, it can be considered an experimentation. You are trying something new, something that is added into that action you have done so many times before, something new would be born from that.

You make me start to think in another point of view. I like when you said that the result wouldn't be the same because when we keep doing something over and over again, we will slowly become good at it and we will get a better result. I partly agree with the quote saying that if we always do the same thing over and over, we'll never get to improve or move forward. This can be true in some situations and can be false in some as well. For instance, if we keep practicing dribbling and shooting basketball, we will be better at it and receiving more opportunities to compete in more tournaments. On the other hand, we can't just stick to the old method. For example, if we keep on failing the test, we might want to find a new method of studying or a new testing strategy that might help us receive a better score.

As others have stated, this quote depends heavily on the situation. Say, I have always used a certain method to study, and it worked, I scored A on the test every time I study using this method. So yeah, I would continue doing what I've always done, instead of changing it. On the other hand, say playing golf, even if we had a robot programmed to do the same swing over and over again the ball wouldn't go to the exact same spot every time, because of external factors. There is always external factors acting upon us. So, therefore no matter how many times you keep doing the same things, something is bound to change whether the change is significant or miniscule.

This quote is referring to when you are solving a problem and it's not working out. You should try new ways or adjust you method to solve the problem, not using the same way and expecting a new result. People mention that this quote heavily depends on the situation which I agree and think that there's only two. One where you have the most significant effect on the result and the other where other factors and you can effect the result. For example, solving a rubik's cube, the only thing deciding whether or not the cube is solved, is you. While in a game, your plan might work the first time but the second time it doesn't. It's because the situation changes and it no longer works. However, this doesn't mean that the method is bad its just that it is no longer or not suited for this situation.

If you plant apple seeds, you will always get an apple no matter what; the apple seeds will never give you oranges or bananas. This logic applies in everything that we do; if we want the outcome to change, then we need to change our actions or thinking. We can frequently see this in successful people, they would always try to find new perspectives to advance themselves, they would not do the same old things because in the end, the result will be the same.

Even though the process of doing things might be the same, but our mindset changes over time. For example, if I were to practice the same set of Math questions for two week, it is obvious that I will probably get a full score. But one in a while, I can possibly get one or two question wrong because I’m too used to with the question that I don’t even think while doing it. Results will always correlate to the initial set of actions put into place in order to get a final outcome. If there is repetition in actions, there will be an equal repetition in results. It takes thought and a desire to do something new in order to alter someone's thought process. There is never only one way to approach something. I like how you said that this quote is related to comfort zone. Comfort zone can be a challenging zone for everyone to escape or feel comfortable out of the zone. If we are still unstable with our feelings, I do think that it is perfectly fine to stay in your comfort zone till you are ready.

I agree with this to a certain extend, for countless of times I had encountered in my life, doing the same things would always result in the same outcome. Very much like going on and on in an ever-ending loop. However, I do believe that this quote doesn't apply to what our future selfs will encounter. Fate, or future is indeed an uncontrollable factor in which humans need to understand. From my own stand point, changing my mindset and how I used to do things had greatly, more or less rewritten my outcomes. Humans are gifted indeed, some with power to change things, others with flaws have succeeded from doing things differently. In fact, science have proven that changing the mindset and the things we do could doesn't entirely make the outcome change completely but more could be happen.

Speaking of the never-ending loop that you mentioned in your statement, have you ever heard of a wormhole? It is theoretical passage through space-time that could create shortcuts for long journeys across the universe. I know this might sound unrelated to the quote, but it seems like you're going to have a full interest on this speculative structure! Search it up!

This quote could mean by two ways, positive and negative. In the positive way, it could mean that all the hard work you deserves what you get. But in the opposite way, it could mean that you are not improving. If you still act the same things won't change. Just like you're standing still and not moving forward.

I agree with this quote, most of the time, "persistence" seems to be a factor of success, and it seems necessary to stick it out and make all the efforts for it. However, if we keep walking the same path, we will reach the same destination every time and get the same result every time; in other words, we will fall into the so-called Mobius Strip Effect and cycle the same path all the time. Is the road that we walked all the way in the first place gonna turn out to be satisfactory? This has become a factor that we really need to be considered. When we decide to strive for a different and better result, we should break our comfort zone and take a new path; when we really take that step, we might find out that: The reality is not as bad as we thought, and that road is not so difficult to walk on either.

Persistence is key to success because in order to get something done, we have to have the resilience and perseverance to face the obstacles and solve the problems. If not, we'll never get anything done in life. Persistence can become unhealthy though as one can focus on one option and not consider other situations and circumstances where another option would be more appropriate, this is cause people to become stubborn and illogical.

I agree that sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is something important because we might learn and experience things we never did before. However, people will worry about what happens next. Do they find a new peace within them from stepping out? Do they get to reach a higher place? Or will this choice push them into a valley so deep they will be unable to climb out of it?

Actions cause outcomes. If the person executing the action is the same, the outcome should be the same, bar some externalities shiting the outcome. There has to be innovation or inspiration in order to change things up and approach life from a different perspective or direction because if not life will be an indefinite copy and paste. People should be willing to try something new and face the consequences of their actions as to get a new outcome and possibly earn new rewards. You'll never know if you don't try it.

Your take on this quote is very interesting. Life is full of uncertainties and factors that could affect how you live your life, and you never know if you don't try. However, what if what you're already doing is working just fine? You have tried different methods and faced multiple consequences, but ultimately it's not pumping out 'good' results compared to the repetitive method you have been using your entire life. Would you argue that people should still try even if they find no success?

This quote could go two ways, if what you've always done satisfies you then keep doing it, but if you don't change you will never know what more you can achieve. To many, sticking to what they're comfortable with is a way of life. But in order to explore more of the only life we have, change is required. Change is caused by intentional reason, we desire a different outcome that is why we change. And we keep changing until we're happy.

Change is definitely necessary for a different outcome. But this doesn't necessarily mean that a different outcome would always need a change. It encourages one to step out of their comfort zone and try out different ways to achieve success. People should be open to new things and believe it or not their lives might become more successful. A straightforward example would be if you only workout a certain part of your body, then you will only get gains from that part and not others part. Therefore, you should step out of your comfort zone then you will discover more widely. However, I also feel that keep doing the same thing can make you become better at that thing. I have personally experienced myself making repeated actions without any change, which caused myself to perform better. At first. Whenever I start to make new actions, I tend to start improving gradually as I repeat my actions, but once I made to a point where I reach the process of diminishing returns, I just start to get worse at it. The key to keeping the best track for progress is to make changes in your actions right before we reach the point of dim inishing returns, so we can improve much efficiently in terms of certain tasks.

I mostly agree with the quote basically saying that we shouldn't stick to doing what we are comfortable doing or else we would never achieve something new. Taking risks is a part of life and we should all try to take more of it to progress in life. However, in science, we sometimes use the same method for three trials but the number is not always close to each other. Sometimes doing the same thing over can allow you to learn something new from it. Like what Ms.D said in the reading workout, reading the same text over and over again can generate different thoughts each and every time.

I like your example, that easy to understand and the way you explain make me also think of myself too. Because I my life is the same as your.

The only exception here is if you try your best. If you are doing your best you are doing the same thing, but you will see improvement eventually. However, if you do the same physical thing everyday, the results will be extremely similar.

I do not agree with the quote. If we do something over and over again, you may not get the same result every time. Even though if the step of doing it is the same, there can be an unforeseen event that can happen during the steps. For example, If I were to play a game of snake over and over again, it is not surprise that I would get the algorithm of the game and win every time. But once in a while, I may miss-click the arrow or get the timing wrong and losses the game. There are many outside factors that can affect you doing the steps.

I agree and disagree, at first you may be able to explore all different types of outcomes you will get. However, as times goes on, you may start losing interest in whatever you are doing due to the fact that you are always getting the similar results. When someone can only do something for a long time, they would change things up, such as removing something for fun. For example, if someone is playing a game, they kept on winning and winning, and they started to get bored and tired, they may restart the whole thing and try new strategies again.

This quote applies to most things in life, but there are few unique things that this quote don't apply to. Sports is one thing that this quote does not apply to. If you get up 100 shots everyday will you get the same outcome? No, because persistency can sometimes get you to a lot of success.

I think that this quote applies sometimes but other times it doesn't always apply. It is because the result that you get may be flawed and if you do it again, it may either be better or worse. But if it is the exact same thing with no other way to interpret the results, then it would definitely get you the same results. Though with mistakes you learn what you do wrong and try to do better in order to get better results. But if you don't do anything, you will not get results so you wouldn't know if what you did gets you the results you want or not.

I think that it's true if you do the same thing over and over again the result is not gonna change, except that your try harder in every time but you do the same work. For example: If you test SAT for 3 time the result will not be the same because you try harder and harder every time. Still if you don't try hard in the test but you get lucky in the test, your score might go up. This quote depend on what you are doing too.

I agree with you. Outside factors such as luck affect the outcome of an event. You may guess more correctly on one of the SAT test, resulting in higher scores.

It is true that if we always do the same thing, we’ll always receive the same things back. That’s why some people discover new ways of doing things to receive newer outcomes. Even though it’s hard to get out of the comfort zone, it may be worth it. You’ll never know unless you try, so just go with it.

This quote states that if we continue to do things the same way, we will always get the same result. I agree with this quote to a limit, because sometimes, change is not wanted. But, when change is desired, there has to be a change in our ways too. Usually, we can not expect the outcome to change if the process stays the same. It is cause and effect.

I do agree with the quote. Doing same thing will get the same thing as a cycle will get us to the same result, where we are satisfied from the first time that we did it. Often time we put the same effort in to it, this can be the answer to why we always get the same result instead of getting a better result out of it. Instead, changing your one little habit might a difference in your end result.

It is true If you always do what you've always done, you're going to always get what you've always gotten but if you alway do the things do always done then it wouldn't be fun. Life would be boring, my aunt work as an accountant. She told me that she did the same thing every single day, it's quite boring. I don't like being bored, I rather do something weird and memorable.

This quote express of how without any differences we wouldn't make any changes. That is true, because how can we make changes or get new outcomes when we're still doing the same thing over and over again. For example, we are taught the same way every single class, however when someone express a new way of teaching we would feel that something is changing. We would get different reactions from that particular class differently from the other classes. To conclude, I agree that by doing the same thing over and over we will get the same results we have.

I agree with you that doing the same thing would lead us to the same outcome. Without changing something, the outcome would be the same. For example, if we did not study for the test and failed, and we keep on not studying for the test, the outcome would still be the same, us failing the test.

I disagree and agree with this quote because in one perspective, if you you are hoping to achieve a certain objective but constantly try again and again with the same technique, nothing will ever be done or changed. But if you look at it again in another perspective, doing the same things does not always mean you get the same outcome, take practicing a music piece for an example. You are constantly playing and playing, but each and every time you play, you improve each time. Sometimes repetition is needed in life to get a exact result you want. So i feel like if we apply this to our life, we should take more risks.

I'm not really sure how your last sentence fits into your argument, but I can agree when you said, "repetition is needed in life to get an exact result." Take studying for example, we study, we read, it's repetitive, however we know that it works so we do it.

In the short-term, being consistent in our actions will always in a particular result. However, in the long-term, just because we do the same actions does not mean that we will get the same results every time. The world we live in is a living and unpredictable place, just because you are repeating your actions does not mean that others will also be repeating their actions too. A person may consistently donate to charities in hopes of improving the world, but that does not mean that he won't run into a shady charity that uses his money for harm instead. Thus, by only focusing on our actions and thinking that we are in full control of everything, we end up setting ourselves up for disappointment.

The statement states that if we keep doing the things we did before, we are going to get the same result. I agree with this quote because if we have the cause, we would have the effect as well. For example, we know that if we study hard for a test, our scores would be good, so we would keep doing it to get the same outcome.

I really do feel that if you don't try to make any changes then nothing will change. Everything will stay the same, and we'll stay with that for the rest of our life, stay where we are "there." Not moving, it's always going to be the same like that, sometime you'll feel that you want it to change. And sometime that it's better that way. I do feel that it's not about whether one want to change or not, but it's whether they have enough courage, whether they're willing to take to go for something else. There would be consequences for actions, some we could simply just try again, some just not, I don't know, but it's true that for all, whether you try to change what you do or not, there will be still be a result, whether it's going to the same or a new result, good or not.

I'm reminded of the SAT course I took earlier over summer. The teacher, instead of encouraging us to go over practice questions and memorizing techniques, provided us with different practice tests each week. Other than allowing us to retrieve our skills, I believe that the tests also serve the purpose of reinforcing us to try out different approaches of test taking, hence resulting in different test scores/outcomes most of the time.

I think the quote depends on the context. For example, when doing a chemistry experiment, if you use the same substances everytime, then your results will always come out the same. However, even when doing science experiments, there are outside factors that we have to consider (such as room temperature, equipments, human error, etc.) that could always alter the results afterward. Doing the same thing does not always give you the same results.

I partly agree with this quote primarily saying that if we keep constantly working on the same discipline over and over again, then we wouldn't be able to achieve something new. On the other hand, this quote definitely doesn't work when it comes to educating an academic subject. Mathematics requires us to keep working on something that's specifically related to that topic in order to be able to make a full understanding out of it. Not only that, working on the same thing also help us by boosting the memorization skill out of that particular subject. Our world is fulfilled with facts that are consisted of CONS and PROS, including the statement this quote.

To be completely honest, I'm not sure I understand the deeper meaning behind this quote (assuming there is one). But I do agree with the surface meaning of the quote. Change comes from your actions and decisions. If you keep doing as you've always done and doesn't change, then you'll always get what you've always gotten, no matter if it's a good or a bad thing.

I do not fully agree with this quote, repetition is sometimes the best way to do things, since you know the outcome. It's the perfect middle ground, you don't get rewarded, yet you don't get punished; it's the Goldilock zone of life. While this is true, it is also true that repetition does not give you what you always gotten. Take communism for example, it has been tried again and again in many countries, but why did it fail in many places except for China?
