Connectivity comes from many things. Today we are connected to social media and letting it suck us in by pettiness and irrelevant things. There is connection with our families and friends. We learn or try new things and we are hooked instantly. There are so many different things to have a connection with, but it is how we choose to control it.

I totally agree with your comment. Social media has brought many negative things into the world. But also it’s the way we let it be portrayed if we tried to add more positivity and self growth promotion rather than trying to change yourself to fit the image I’d probably have a better outcome.

Connectivity can be very sufficient in today’s busy life. It can help you communicate with other whether business or personal. But it can also effect us negatively if we aren’t careful. In society it’s causing many to not even be able to have a normal conversation without whipping out their phones. At the same time I’ve seen how it has changed me I feel kind of empty without my access to my phone or internet so that could be considered a problem.

Connectivity is the state of being connected or linking with one another. social media connectivity has it's pros and cons in our society, the cons can start with sharing personal info, Addiction,Negative energy and wrong influences. The Pros being promoting business, Clients, Social Influencer and more. Connectivity is sufficient due to communication, friendship, relationship and jobs. The moment you can't control your use of technology and you "venting" to the media rather than you to put the technology down and talk to someone and give your personal info to the media is the point you should realize that you're addicted. In society, we are ADDICTED forget the denial stage, we're pass that. we tend to live off our phones daily we wake up and the first we do is check out our devices rather than check our surrounding.

N. Medina 6th

Connectivity can be a good thing or a bad thing, it’s just depends on the situation. Our phones can do so much for us in time of need but the internet and social media has us addicted. Everything revolves around social media and it’s corrupting us to the point we can’t spend a couple of hours without our phones. It’s great for certain things like keeping in touch or setting alarms but that’s not what our society mainly uses it for. We let the improvement of technology take control of our lives. I can personally say that I think I’m addicted to the internet and social media but I think if I was serious about spending less time I would. I feel like we are losing touch with humanity and it’s ruining us already.

Social media has a way of messing with people's social life. When you look at Facebook, many people get their lives ruined from one post. Social media has a way of causing unnecessary drama between people. Its enough that people get into fights at school, it makes no sense for friendships to end on Facebook due to one post. Social media has affected our society in more negative ways than positive.

M. Hollywood 2nd
3/1/2019 07:19:57 am

Connectivity is the extend to which someone is connected to one another. Connectivity doesn’t necessarily have to be through technology, however that is the most common way of connectivity. It is taking over our society considering most people can’t eat without grabbing their phone and checking social media or posting. It creates communication barrier when people are speaking face to face because they are accustomed to speaking by telephone. Social media has become a addicting aspect of the our lives. Social media has impacted my life as well, I can barely go an entire class period without checking to see what is happening on social media.

D jones 3rd

Connectivity with people and technology is getting out of hand. Social media is now a persons way of life. That's the first thing they do is check their phone when they get up. When their phone die they wouldn't know what to do. People also will text a person all day then see them in person and not say a word. Technology is taking away our social and communication skills.

L.Allen 2nd Period

I believe technology and social media has transform society in many positive and negative ways. Technology impacts us by givings tools to business and entrepreneur people to sell product and make profit which can be good and bad meaning that it's good that the business is in the public eye but bad because your company or organization has to compete with others. Social media has changed the norm of socializing physically with other people which is highly disappointing knowing that in order to get a job or run a business requires a enormous amount of communication skills. However, it takes great discipline to not let social media steal your time, perspective, and identity in life. Because social media is so addictive precisely cause it gives us something which the real world lacks:immediacy, direction and a value or worth as a individual. Likewise, you are responsible for everything you post and everything you post will be a reflection of yourself. And at the end of the day, we don't have a choice on whether we "do" social media, the question is "how well we do it".

Technology has become a big part of society, we use it everyday in our daily lives it’s one of the easiest things to come in contact with. Many of us have become dependent on technology because of how fast it is and that means that we don’t have to use our brains as much. I myself have become dependent on my phone which isn’t something that is beneficial because without it I feel uncomfortable. We don’t socialize as much because we have something in our hands for most of the day. It’s more common now for people to have social problems because of technology. Teens are worsening by the generation because technology is improving and no one knows how to use their brain without a phone. The internet has its positive and negative feed back It all depends on how you use it. If we are being honest without a phone or television now days you will be in the dark about everything. Connectivity is both a good and bad thing. The internet keeps us up to date with what’s going on with the world . People stick their noses into their handheld device. It's one of the biggest distractions. However phones are useful to carry around, but most of the screen time can be unproductive when it really use as more of a hobby than a liability. All we do is scroll through pretty pictures, look at other people's ideas, wait for a notification and ect. At some point endless how much effort we put our habits through a phone that overshadow our surroundings.

I. Chancellor 8th period

To be honest, connectivity can be negative or positive, it all depends on how you use it. For instance, if you use the internet and social media to stay connect to family members and friends, then it makes connectivity positive. Now, if we use it for self-worth and likes, then connectivity is negative. If we use it negatively, then it will cause depression and communication barriers for the future generations and yourselves. However, if we use it positively, then we will not reap these consequences.

Connectivity is not completely a bad thing, it has both pro’s and con’s. There are a number of ways that people can connect, like social media, messaging, email, etc. It’s all in the way you look at it, social media can be the thing to make or break you. Wanting to feel included, or in the crowd, it makes you want to be on social media along with everyone else. You can connect with family, friends, use it for eduacational reasons.

K.Brown 8th

J. Maple 8th
3/2/2019 07:26:42 am

Connectivity is a double-edged sword; there’s a good side and a bad side. The bad side is that it takes us away from what’s really happening in the world around us. Instead of creating experiences for ourselves, we watch others have them for us. We become sheltered by watching screens. However, the good side of connectivity is that there’s an infinite amount of information at our disposal. From research to services to media platforms, we can use these tools to become more involved and informed about whatever might happen or will happen. We can reach and have meaningful conversations with others around the globe using our screens. Connectivity is not so bad, but our society needs to find a balance between the real and virtual worlds.

Honestly, connectivity is really keeping people from being able to talk to others more in person. It makes people feels as if they can be all bold over the internet and be who they aren’t and in person they’re not who they say they are on the internet. It also keeps us from doing daily activities because we become so much into the internet we tend to become more lazy and only be on the internet. Connectivity is helping our society grow as well as hurting our society. It all depends on how someone uses it. Social media can be a huge distraction for teens. It corrupts them into believing they must be like everyone else. A positive of social media is that you can learn something new everyday. It is also a way for young entrepreneurs to begin their business. For me social media has been a distraction from school. I often grab my phone or computer before doing anything else.

I can say for a fact that social media play a big part in many people lives and some people say that "they can't live without it" which is crazy. There is plenty other things to do beside sit in front of a screen for most of the day. For those who stay square face in front of a device will have a hard time when we have power outages of something like that but social media make people do a lot of thing good and bad based oppon the person at hand.

Connectivity to computers, our phones, and television has taken over our society as a whole. Having actual genuine conversations are harder than ever now because many people are soul tied to their cellular phones. This definitely includes myself. Having the world at the tip of our fingers through a little bright screen has changed the way we do things from learning information to communicating with our loved ones. We don’t even buy holiday cards anymore because we’re so used to sending a simple texts. Even maybe a GIF (animated photo message). The world has become so disconnected with each other because of our connection to our technology. This has distorted so many opportunities. It has also MADE opportunities! Truly a win lose situation.

I can say without a doubt that social media has both an incredibly positive influence and incredibly negative influence. In my experiences, the world wide web has influenced me to be confident and willing with my art. Though, at the same time, it has zapped time away from me as well, becoming my escape route when I wanted to procrastinate. Social media at times brings out the worst of people, seeing as they feel the need to appeal to the media that they broadcast to. At the same time however, social media shines light on good people and gives those with abilities they have a platform to stand on.

Connectivity is the state or extent of being connected or interconnected. In today's society people are more indulged into their phones than everything around them. People are being corrupted and manipulated by social media and the things that it has on them. From the daily drama in the shade room to the trolls that cause people to commit suicide. I use social media for my business and finding new ideas to promote myself and get what I'm doing out to the public. I sometimes engage in the drama fest, however, it can become very addictive to most. "Social media is addictive precisely because it gives us something which the real world lacks: it gives us immediacy, direction, and a value as an individual"~David Amerland.

In today's world connectivity can be very beneficial to us. We are able to communicate with our family members and friends from other places. We can do our homework, take notes, and even take classes online. However, in this new era of technology, it has nearly consumed everyone from all ages. The internet is a great and very useful tool but it can also be very dangerous. Much of our youth has fallen prisoner to technology, almost everyone has a phone glued to their face .

K. Banks 6th

Connectivity can be beneficial and problematic. It’s beneficial in ways such as allowing people from all over to connect. The problematic part of it is that it becomes addicting and causes people to steer away from the real world. With their lives glued into a phone they can’t maintain social skills needed to succeed. This generates a disconnection between others and potential experiences.

Connectivity connects and brings people together no matter from where or no matter who you are. However for every good thing there's always something bad. Through the invention of the internet, we have been able to break down barriers and can interact with almost anyone from anywhere. It is truly a groundbreaking invention, but sadly it is a double edge sword. While it has made it possible for people to become connected no matter how far they are from each other, it has also induced depression, and social oppression. Personally technology has given me an opportunity to see and "experience" things that I'm not capable of doing in real life. So in a way, it acts as way for me to be in a state of less anxiety

Which is great not that many people have the opportunity to travel and see their family so having a device that can connect then with their loved ones at will if fantastic. The Internet is becoming more powerful in societies around the world. It is the biggest positive when it’s about awareness and unity. But it can also be the power of how the internet is misused by the groups, communities, companies. And people are concerned about the privacy of their uses and this is the biggest negative impact of the internet on society. Society is influenced by educational resources, social media websites, web application, shopping sites, online business, internet marketing, research and social skills positively and negatively. The excessive use on the internet without the basic knowledge of the best way to use technologies is making societies physically and mentally unfit.

Estevan Salas 6th

I believe the internet is some sort of a blessing and a curse scenario. It allows you to keep in contact with people you have never met or just your relatives in general. Then social media comes into the mix and people become obsessed with the amount of likes their pictures/tweets get and it becomes a popularity contest. Social media in today’s society makes many mini-narcissist that become obsessed with themselves and seek recognition from the people around them causing the phrase “live in the moment” to morph into “live in the likes.” I just think everything is too easy, being able to access and seek 2000+ people is abnormal when compared to the way people used to live back before it was created. The internet definitely has more cons than pros but it is something that we are accustom to and is built into our society as a whole.

Its our source of entertainment, communication, it cooks for us, cleans after us and our money and valuables are kept safe by it. It controls so many aspects of our lives it makes comminication seem irrelevant which is turning everyone a little more introverted every day. In my opinion Social media is bad because people get social media just to see whats going on in your life. It also changes the way people interact with their families because at the dinner table or when it’s family time everybody is glued to their cell phones and they are scared because they think they are going to miss out on something that they think is important. This makes it hard because people see what going on in your life and makes them feel as if they have to do better then you. But other hand social media gives us fast and easy insight to things we need to know. Also it’s one of the best ways to spread news or information so technically social media is really just what we make it.

As far as today , connectivity and society have a bittersweet relationship . In some cases it seems that people will use there connective resources to compare their life’s with other people . This can lead to insecurities within ones self because of the steady comparisons made daily .On the other hand , connective resources can give entrepreneurs the chance to create a platform for themselves . People aspiring to become models or comedians usually start their work on social media and get discovered that way .

Connectivity (the Internet, social media, computers) is entertaining, persuading, and even potentially manipulating our society. I say this but at the same time, people is allowing connectivity to shape or form them whether it is in mind, in associating and/ or if building a personal success. Connectivity isn’t doing anything to a person as the person is taking advantage of connectivity. The internet, social media even computers is technology that has been used by people negatively to benefit self. It can be a career, promote a business, allow for networking for growth, and that open accessible platform for producing income. The way connectivity effects for one good or bad only does so one uses it. There is a greater advantage today in society than it is not too for a college degree, a source of income, to network, to be open, to conduct a business or help people live.
