Life doesn't sit around and wait on you. Many times it's best to throw caution to the wind and just go. Sometimes, things in life come too quickly to be thought about before acting upon. If you have a feeling it's right, then go for it. If it's not right, then you'll find out. If it is...well, all the better for you.

In life you aren't always going to get a reward or consequence for your actions. Your actions sometimes go unnoticed. You have to do right because its the right thing to do and to have integrity not for a reward. Life gives you many opportunities and if you cant do whats right you're wasting your time and others. Doing the right thing can take you very far in life.

JeDarion Lyons 4th Period

I agree with Rodney's response because in life some people choose to do what they feel is right at the time. Not everybody that does right get rewarded because that's really what you suppose to do and if you are doing wrong you don't necessarily always have consequences. But no matter what you do you always have to answer to God at the end of the day.

Having that thought in the back of your head, "I will probably get some thing good from this!" is usually the main reason people feel exhilarated when they think about a generous task they'd done. When you're instinctively generous and positive all "nice" acts come naturally, you won't expect anything in return from anyone or anything. Going on with being positive, sometimes you get these "gut feelings" telling you should do something, never hesitate to do it. All it's doing is leading you in the right direction. For every positive there is a negative, therefore being "too nice" or generous can be taken advantage of. You just have to know when to put a halt to your actions toward certain individuals.

I believe that Tyrell spoke the words right out of my mouth; rewards are irrelevant when a person does right and the wrong renders a consequence. Sometimes people neglect to forget that everyone's a person, and not another obstacle for appraisal. For instance, famous celebrities donating to charities in hopes of emotional appeal to fans, not to help out- that's just a plus on their sides. Not saying that all celebrities are seeking awards from everything they do, just that they know their life is constantly recorded and a ride on the bandwagon.

Erika Boyd 1st period

Sometimes making choices is a challenge. You have to weigh your options by consequences and rewards. The time to act instead of calculating what is right is easier to do when someone is in danger. If your friend is texting and driving, the best thing to do is tell them to stop. When you text and drive, it becomes a danger to you as well as your friend. This can be applied to other things like drinking, drugs and other unhealthy behaviors that can be a problem for you and to your peers as well.

Jacolby Pemberton 4th period

I agree with Erika because this world we live in today offers a lot of opportunities . Sometimes we tend to sit back and relax when we could be doing something progressive for our life or maybe in the future . As you live life , you tend to experience different situations that may cause you to think a different way . When you been through a obstacle or trial in your life , and you run into another sometimes you may over think about what you should do . Also though you get that instinct where your mind is telling you what you should do and you know its the right thing to do , so just do it if you know for a fact it's right .

Being raised on stereotypes many things can go wrong it's time to just do the right thing whether you get a reward or not. Rewards are a mind thing you can reward yourself by just being happy with yourself instead of letting someone else bring you happiness by "rewarding you". Separate yourself from stereotypes, the "if I do this or that maybe I'll be rewarded" stuff because you don't nor won't always get things for being a good individual. Being a positive person can bring you greater opportunities and the reward will be bigger than you imagined. A famous quote says that time waits for no man, if you sit around calculating "what's it gonna cost me, or what's in it for me" then many opportunities in life will pass you by. Many times in life it's best to just look at situations and say why not, and just do what is, or feels right. In some situations it is best to buck the system, or what everyone else is doing, just because they are doing it doesn't make it right. Another famous quote "Carpe Diem" Latin for "Seize the Day",words of wisdom from the past telling us again not to stand by idly. Sometimes it is best to do something, anything, because doing something even if it is wrong is better than doing nothing at all.

One should always take the risk and reward of a situation into consideration. If someone just made decions without thinking about it, it could cause a huge problem they didn't want to begin with. Everyone should see through the choices they have and the results that can come from each one. The more more popular kid did the right thing ,but his consequence was losing a couple of friends. In all actually they really wasn't his friend so the consequence wasn't that bad. I agree with Shorty because life is a challenge. It's up to you determine whether you will be rewarded or have consequences. Learning from what you did will good to help someone with the same problem.

I Believe that's it's ok for you to take risks.Everyone is not perfect so when you make make mistakes you learn from it. I also think that taking changes is a good thing because it can get you in a better situation.

I don't really think that there's ever a time that a person stops thinking about the risks and rewards of the choices that are made in life. Although, not everyone is given free will to make choices majority of people are. Life is short. Whether it's known or not every decision made revolves around the Positive effects A repercussions. Overall,I think that you should do it makes you happy at the end of the day because you're the one who has to live with the choices you choose to make.

It is time to stop calculating risk and rewards and do what you know is right when you realize that you don't get rewarded every time for doing the right things . If you have that mindset , then everything you do would be for show . Your life would be a movie. You would expect people to applaud you every time you do good verses you doing the right things just because its morally right . Oprah Winfrey said " Real integrity is doing the right thing , knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not . " Doing the right thing doesn't always mean your going to like the aftermath that happens but your conscience should be uplifted knowing that you did do the right thing . You might do the right thing and lose a couple friends ,family members , money , etc , but may the good outweigh the bad because at the end of the day you did a good deed .

I believe that you don't always need a reward for everything. A lot of great things go unnoticed because a person doesn't need a pat on the back. If a person knows what right then they should automatically do it. Just doing the right thing will make you feel better in the inside. No one is going to right there when you something wrong or right. Follow the rules will be the best thing that you could in a situation.

It is time to stop calculating risk and rewards and start start doing what's right is when you every time you does something right, you don't have to be rewarded. Its good to get noticed for doing the right thing but you shouldn't expect to get rewarded all the time. You don't need a pat on the back to know that you are doing something right like having good grades. People are not going to agree with every choice you make as long as you know that's the right thing to do.

You should never look at the risks or reward. If it's right go ahead and do it. You'll dwell over it and miss the opportunity to change your life or someone's just by not looking to see if you get something for helping someone. Capture it the moment even if the risk could mean the worst. Stop counting the things you get and just give for the change.

A huge problem that we have in our society is that most people are very selfish and care about himself more than others. In their surroundings such as when someone throws a bottle on the floor not caring that's they are slower destroying our planet, On the other hand another person may pick that bottle up knowing they won't get a reward, but pick it up because they know that's the right thing to do. I also agree with Erika because every choice you make could change your future, I also like when who brought up texting and driving comment because everyone knows that's not right but others still do it.

    Mixed Ink

Mixed Ink is our class blog, the window into our souls. It was designed to improve students' writing, critical thinking and communication skills by giving them a platform to provide meaningful content based on their interpretation of what they see.

Although the students receive a grade based on a rubric for completing this assignment, they are not graded on complexity of thought. This is a place where students of all levels can freely, confidently and creatively express themselves and their opinions in a nonjudgmental platform. They are required to respond to and critique each other, but degradation, slander, lewdness, etc., will not be tolerated.
