Individualism's role impacts American society because over the years our generation evolved. It had evolved by being more specific with race and sexuality. In the past, Jeffery Dahmers case was more about how he killed and ate his victims. Now, our society and generation is triggered more about race and sexuality then what the principal of the situation was.

I agree because there are many factors that can change the outcome of things based on peoples opinions etc.

I agree. We as people have changed and evolved about what triggers us.

I agree with you that our generation has evolved. Older generations have different worries and concerns compared to younger generations. Thoughts can change through generation and ages

I agree, we have evolved overtime. The case is more on how his mentality was other than his sexuality.

Individualism affected Jeffery Dahmer since a young age. His parents had never questioned it but always tended to find it odd what he would do for fun. As he grew up his parents had never really been concerned until they noticed he had been drinking quite often. Dahmer would scout for boys in bars or around and would end up in people never finding the victim until he was caught. Individualism affects American society because people could easily get away with things as they could be doing things that nobody could be able to detect.

I agree because individualism allows people to do things that they want to do.

Yes I agree with you. I feel like we need a better connection with each other because like Jeffery, he didn't have a connection. Because of individualism he was able to do these terrible things.

I agree with you, because the whole idea of individualism is taking action on your own without anyone questioning it. Like in Jeff's case his whole childhood didn't include anyone but himself.

He was affected at such a young age. after his surgery he was very kept to himself. America is all about individualism so people could being doing the unimaginable right now just because they are by themselves and they aren't being suspicous enough to get caught.

I agree with you because although he was doing lots of weird things no one expected for him to be up to something outside of the building. You leave no trace or suspicion from others because they are not in a close enough to build their own assumptions.

Individualism is very important in America because it involves freedom and the will for people to do things on their own. For example, individualism brings people happiness in many different ways. It also determines us to accomplish our goals and achievements.

I agree because you tend to fill your void of loneliness with things that seem to attract your likings. At a such a young age all the considered weird things that satisfy you one day come into the world with you.

I agree with you because when you're alone you can do the things you like. You can find out new things about yourself when you have time to yourself. When alone you can practice, get new hobbies or just have some down time which people do enjoy

Individualism plays a crucial role in American society. I say this because Jeffery Dahmer, was on his own most of his life. His mom left him while he was in high school, his dad didn't listen to him when he was asking for help, and just in general didn't have anyone there for him. I feel like this was part of the reason he did what he did. Maybe if he got the right support then it could've been prevented. We need to learn to work and connect together.

Kevin Jacinto 6b

I agree with you because, people change when they are alone the start to have bad thoughts to themselves and cant get any help since they dont have anyone to ask for help.

Nox ( katelyn) Sears 2A

I do believe that if he was listened to and treated correctly it could have been prevented and he wouldn't have done what he did. Also maybe if he went to find help from other people it could have helped,

I think the same thing because with the environment he grew up in may be one of the causes of why he ended up doing what he was doing .

Individualism plays a very important role in our society, because it focuses on the individual accomplishment. For example, in Dahmers case he was on his own basically growing up. So he developed weird thoughts, but nobody cared. So these thoughts he grew where about having complete dominance over people body's. So his personal perseverance made him do this horrible act(s).

Morgan Johnson 5B
10/2/2022 10:43:56 pm

I agree, he was mainly on his own so he found out about these things at a young age. If the people in his life led him onto the right path the outcome could of been different.

Nox ( Katelyn) Sears 2A

Individualism is a key factor in America. It represents freedom to an individual. It's all about you like Jerffrey his whole childhood was just him. When you're alone you can do things you like without being judged by anyone else.

Morgan Johnson 5B

Individualism plays a very important role in society, because when someone becomes independent their minds start to change. It doesn't happen to all people though. Kids get into horrible things and their minds evolve differently. For Jeffery he started to get into trouble as a child and an adult resulting in his crimes.

I totally agree because being alone and growing up alone is something tuff to do especially with a bad environment around you. Also not anyone telling you right from wrong.

Raheem Beck

Individualism plays a huge role in American society today because being left alone can lead to traumatic ideas. Having to find yourself on your own especially at a young age with no guidance can push you so far from the real reality. In Dahmer's case he found something which most normal people would look no where in the direction of to look for an out. This was all he knew nd enjoyed as a kid and big problem just led to an even bigger one later on in his life. What you find an intrest on is what you usually stick to, and the state of him just wanting to be around his father and thats all he taught him that was his way of feeling close to him when he wasn't around. What we all do in the dark will always find a way to make it to the light.

Individualism is something very important in the American society because it helps you become more mature and self-dependent. Sometimes that is not a good case… For example Jeffery Dahmers case, since he was little he never really had anyone to talk to or have fun with especially with his parents always arguing and yelling. Even when his parents saw that something was wrong with him they never bothered to try and help really. That’s why I think you should always have atleast 1 friend because then you could be saving life’s but you could also be saving yours.
