I agree because it's an idea recreated in your own way. The original art work is still there so it doesn't lose the concept of it.

Taylor Dilworth
12/16/2014 11:55:19 pm

I disagree because once something original is destroyed and made new by someone else, it becomes an original work of art to them , and it's changed forever

Johnny Johnson
12/19/2014 03:26:46 pm

I don't see how you disagree because it would almost be plagiarism

Katera Greer 3rd Period
12/18/2014 12:31:53 am

I agree because if something is destroyed and an idea can recreate the concept of the work you want to re-create.

jamarie williams p5
12/18/2014 03:06:48 am

I agree with katera because art is something that you feel deep inside

Angelica Silas link
12/18/2014 01:46:05 am

I disagree because once something has been destroyed it has an entirely different meaning or importance , it will never be the same so therefore the concept would also change.

La'Darius Wells 4th period
12/18/2014 02:26:55 am

I agree with Brianna, art should be idea of your own that you recreated

Joe Dabney
12/18/2014 07:50:41 am

I agree because doing so allows you to create a piece of art in your image but it still be able to say the same story as the original art.

Alexus Jones
12/18/2014 09:56:24 am

I Agree With Joe. Art is something that comes from the heart.I believe if you have the mind set to recreate something to make it into something better then the original art. The image of the art will remain the same.

Taylor Dilworth
12/16/2014 11:46:34 pm

The notion is true because in class we had a similar prompt and we discussed that destruction is a form of creation . It could Create a work of art , something memorable , or even something that could bring joy to someone's life. The destruction of something could be just trash to one but to the eye of the beholder it could be a treasure

Hector Castillo
12/17/2014 01:45:53 pm

We did have a similar prompt like this in class, and i also do agree with Dilworth because you can simply make some out of trash and make it better.

Hector Castillo
12/17/2014 01:44:12 pm

Destruction is a form of creation because when something is destroyed it already is turned to something new or you can rebuild it to something new. For example, if you were to recycle a coke can then it would be made into something new. Therefore, destruction is a form of creation in the minds of people.

Kyshawna Thomas
12/18/2014 10:55:38 am

I agree because destruction does make new art there is an original but that original is not longer there because there is something new in place of it , which is the new creation.

Katera Greer 3rd Period
12/18/2014 12:30:23 am

The notion is true because when something is destroyed something is always going to be re-created nut the concept of what it originally was will stay the same. However but when one is destroyed it can be nothing to whom ever nut something treasuries to someone else.

Angelica SIlas link
12/18/2014 01:43:06 am

I believe that this notion is true. Destruction is indeed a form of creation.Starting off with an original concept of art then destroying it doesn't mean that is has less significance. It simply means that it has been reconstructed and evolved into an incomparable new work of art.

Emmanuel shabazz link
12/18/2014 02:16:26 am

In my opinion, I say that the notion is true. I agree because artist have a way of destroying things and making it better than what it was. Destroying something can be the start of something great. Destroying something can bring many thoughts about your next piece of art.

Brice thompson
12/18/2014 02:19:52 am

I believe the notion is true because taking an original idea thats good and creating it in a way that makes it yours will create your type of art 🎨

La'Darius Wells 4th period
12/18/2014 02:24:02 am

Yes, I think that this statement is true, art is what comes out of your heat. Art is something that you just do your own, you can be creative and be yourself. Art should be inspiring to one another.

antonio moore 4th period
12/18/2014 02:26:00 am

the notion is true because somthing destroyed can always be recreated into somthing more creative and better than what it use to be. also destroying somthing is start of somthing new a better project that comes from the destruction of things that where destroyed to make it more improved. and i agree with angelica because destruction is a form of creation because u wont ever know what new ideas will come out that destruction and will be created.

Jamarie Williams p5
12/18/2014 03:09:48 am

Art is not something easy to do. because you cant just wake up and decide that's what you want to make a career. Art can be express in many ways and a lot of people put passion and a lot of thought into it.

Ke`0nta Runnels 4th
12/18/2014 05:24:23 am

Art is something that comes from your imagination and your heart. Art is not something you can just wake up & do. By destroying something you can turn into something even better than before.

Joe Dabney
12/18/2014 07:47:02 am

I strongly defend this notion because if you were to just recreate the same ole art it wouldn't be art. When you throw out the old concepts and create something new and unique of your own you will create a masterpiece. Therefore you should "burn and destroy ordinary concepts and to substitute them with new truths that run down from the top of the head and out of the heart”.

Michaela Johnson
12/19/2014 06:45:04 am

I disagree with joe. Why waste one's time burning and destroying original concepts. One might as well start with a blank canvas if there is going to be nothing to start with anyway.

Alexus jones
12/18/2014 10:29:01 am

I strongly believe the notion is true. Destroying the original concept and recreating it to your own is a good start to new art. It's almost as if your starting from scratch with your own ideas trying to make the orginal art a better piece to enhance your chance to enjoy your physical well-being by expressing your passion for art.

Kyshawna Thomas
12/18/2014 10:50:16 am

I agree I feel art comes from inspiration from other artist. Modifying it and changing it does make it ones own but there is always a place it stems from. They create something new and maybe better by putting their own style to it. If you have to destroy and burn an original concept to create ones own that is your art.

Michaela Johnson
12/19/2014 06:49:07 am

I disagree with Kyshawna. It is true that artist are always inspired by others. However, when an artist uses inspiration from another artist to create their one art it is not destroying the original concept. It is merely adding their ideas to your own.

Dondre Irvin
12/18/2014 12:11:33 pm

I agree with Kyshawna when she says that art comes from the inspiration of others and that you can modify and change it. However, I strongly disagree with the idea that creating art is burning and destroying original or ordinary concepts. Everyone should be able to see how the art evolved and transformed, but if you destroy the things that gave you your inspiration then all that will be seen is the new form.

Carvellion horn 4th
12/18/2014 02:24:04 pm

I agree with this statement because destroying original art that's yours is like creating a new idea of inspiration and opens your mind to different changes. "Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable"-William Pollard.

Janesia Henderson
12/19/2014 02:55:20 am

I agree because in order to create art you have too destroy something . Its like recreating something you made too make better .

Michalea Johnson
12/19/2014 06:37:29 am

I believe that the notion is false. Saying that destruction is creation strips the meaning of destruction. I believe that destruction can lead to an opportunity to create, however, it is not creation itself. For if that was the case there would be no need to call it destruction. Just simply creation. Finally, saying that destruction is the only way to form art is ludicrous. If that were the case all art would be is a bunch of recycled ideas, and no originality.

Johnny Johnson
12/19/2014 01:53:17 pm

I agree. Art isn't about the simple things in life. It is something that cones from the soul. Whatever kind of art it is, it will be something that you feel. Therefore art is something inspirational and comes from the heart

Bazille Banks
12/19/2014 02:52:52 pm

I agree with Johnny. As i said in my post, art is an expression of who you are, and it comes from your imagination. Art is a reflection on what you think and feel.

jasmin Mallory
12/19/2014 03:34:15 pm

I agree with Johnny because there is nothing simple about art. Art is what you make it out to be.

Dontizierra Booker
12/19/2014 02:15:40 pm

I agree with this notion because to create something art, you must think outside if the box and create something that uses a new concept while still keeping the original idea in mind. Therefore to be creative destruction must occur.

Bazille Banks
12/19/2014 02:49:57 pm

Art is an expression of one's true thoughts and a representation of their perspective. You cannot not put a limit on someone's creativity, so I do agree that creative destruction is a good thing. Most people have an extraordinary imagination, and they should be able to share and express it freely. You can't force an artistic individual to to be ordinary, otherwise it wouldn't really be art.

jasmin mallory
12/19/2014 03:32:15 pm

This notion is true because she you destroy something it can become something even bigger. It might look like trash to one person but to another its beautiful. Art is a mind thing anyways. Art makes you look at things in a different view.

Shannon Simpson
12/19/2014 04:05:49 pm

Ordinary art can be recreated with passion and flair to make it extra ordinary. The art is a reflection of what your thinking and or how your feeling. You have to destroy it I order to get the full creation out of it.

Taylor Terry
1/2/2015 02:26:01 pm

I agree with your statement "art is a reflection of what your thinking and how you feel". That is how you represent your creativity. And makes meaning of your art and all its attributes.

Taylor Terry
1/2/2015 02:23:21 pm

I believe that art is what ever a person feels like represents their creativity. Art doesn't have to be different or hard to understand. As long as a person puts meaning into their masterpiece it art.
