Writing Wednesdays
Russian-born American comedian and writer, Eugene Mirman said, "The other thing you can do is write a strong personal essay which lets admissions people inside your life, your heart and your world."
He's right. And to that I will add, good readers make great writers! As a mantra, I always say that reading can save your life! When you read better, you write better, and when you write better, you speak better, and when you speak better, you communicate better, and when you communicate better, you are exposed to better opportunities!
In my class, we practice how we play. Each Wednesday, you will be given a prompt that will require you to participate in a timed-writing exercise. Then, each holiday break, we will write college entrance essays until you are prepared to apply for college! Doing so will help you:

- Draft on-the-spot writing in college or the workplace (essays, proposals, grants);
- Perfect your resumes, artist statements and manifestos;
- Write more creatively and authentically; and
- Get much needed writing practice.
