Promises carry weight because they build trust. Still, life isn’t always black and white. Sometimes keeping a promise can feel impossible or even unfair. The real tension comes when loyalty to your word clashes with loyalty to yourself or others.

Some people believe that once a promise is made, it should never be broken. Others see promises as flexible, shaped by the circumstances around them. Which idea makes more sense depends on how much you value certainty versus change.

Even the smallest promises can raise big questions. Is a broken promise always the end of trust, or can it be the start of honesty? Does keeping a promise matter more than the reasons behind it?

In order for someone to break a promise, they have to have a good reason. I don't break promises but in certain cases I do. It all just depends on the circumstance someone is in. Breaking a promise with someone could save their life or someone else's. People shouldn't break other people's trust by going back on a promise they made.

It is never okay to break a promise because your betraying someones trust. I personally take promises really serious and i dont agree with a promise having circumstances. Whatever promise you made, you have to stick to it and if you felt like its too hard to keep it then dont make it.

In my opinion I feel like it is okay to break a promise sometimes when you feel like it is no longer a good decision that the person is trying to harm themselves but if it was a promise to where your friend trying to let you know them something that they trust you with then you should be held accountable to keep the promise since they trust you.

I personally do not agree with breaking a promise because it is somthing that one person trusts you with somthing you ca keep to yourself if you do end up breaking it and it is somthig that is personal they are just not going to trust you anymore they will see you diffrent at the end of the day as well.

I personally believe that you shouldn't make a promise if you are unsure of yourself when making that promise. It hurts to not know if someone broke a promise because it means a lot to me that they show that I can trust them just by making a promise. However if you break a promise once I wouldn't hold that against you and never trust you again, people aren't always good at doing stuff right the first time and there is always room for improvement.

Is it ever okay to break a promise, I say yes it is because something people are not always going to be there for you and you can't just feel emotional toward that person because of a promise. In life you have to do things by yourself because people are people and they think of themselves more than others at times. Whether you know them for a long time or not it doesn't matter if people have things to do and those things can be more important than a relationship for.

I believe that a promise shouldn't be made if someone isn't certain they can keep it. I feel as if it's a part of life to learn how to keep yourself in line and own up for your actions/consequences. I understand things fall through and there's many different circumstances someone could break a promise but I do believe people should think about the outcome of making a promise if they aren't certain they can keep it.

I do believe that promises have weight to them because promises can be about anything. Some promises can be made during though times and some can be little thing as showing up to certain things. Promises can break or make relationship because if the other person is trusting in you to make the promise then its probably means a lot to them.

I believe that promises even the ones that are broken should be forgiven.I comes down to how significant the promise was and why they broke it.Rebuilding trust after a broken promise is like trying to replant a tree that has been uprooted.But you can eventually put it back in the ground and replant that tree.

Whenever you make a promise, you’re saying you will keep your word. If you fail to keep it, you’re also breaking the trust with that person. So in my opinion, it’s not okay to break a promise.
