Navigating Post-Election Emotions

11/7/2024

Picture
The election is over, and a lot of people are feeling nervous, anxious, sad, or even elated about the results. These emotions can feel heavy and complex, and it’s natural to be overwhelmed. If you're elated with the results, you have a right to express that without feeling embarrassed or anxious. However, boasting in a cruel way is also untoward. But remember: you have a right to feel how you feel. Your thoughts, feelings, and emotions are valid.

It’s easy to question ourselves in moments of uncertainty, especially when big changes impact everyone. But your emotions aren’t “right” or “wrong”—they’re real and reflect what matters to you. Whether you feel anxious, disappointed, or even hopeful, allow yourself to sit with those feelings without judgment. They’re a reminder that you care deeply, that you’re processing, and that you’re human. Embrace them, and let them guide you forward, helping you stay connected and strong, even in challenging times.

Let's Write: Reflect on the outcome of the recent election and the emotions it has stirred in people around you. Think about your own hopes and concerns about what lies ahead. How do you think this moment might impact you, your school, your community, and especially your future, especially reflecting on the nature of voting.

**How to post. Click in the top right hand corner or the lower left hand corner where it says Comments to access the discussion board. Once there, scroll to the bottom of the page to post a Reply. After, choose comments from at least two students from any class and Reply to what they wrote.

CAUTION!! Do NOT embarrass me, yourself, your class, the English department, the school, your family or your upbringing with tasteless, meaningless comments. This is for a grade.

DISCLAIMER: If you do not respond AND comment on TWO others, you will not receive credit for this assignment. If you do not write your name correctly, and I don't see your work, you will not receive credit for this assignment. If you use profanity, you will not receive credit for the work. It's all or nothing.

I think that this would make a difference by motivating individuals to become more informed about political issues and candidates, enhancing critical thinking and decision-making skills. The community could also change by having different people that are moving back and forth. Student engagements promote leadership for younger generations to understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens. This can contribute to legacy and for more civil generations to come together.

Lopez M 1A
11/7/2024 11:27:58 am

Yes the students engagement in these type of events promotes leadership to the younger generation because even though some younger kids have somewhat of an understanding, we as the generation before them can hopefully educate in the matters of voting and their rights.

Espinosa M
11/8/2024 01:50:38 pm

I completely agree with your perspective on the importance of community engagement after an election. Regardless of the outcome, staying involved is crucial. You mentioned that even if things didn’t go as planned, we still have the power to make a difference locally, which really resonated with me. It’s a reminder that real change often begins at the grassroots level, where each of us can contribute directly to the well-being of our schools and neighborhoods. Your point about not giving up on what we believe in is inspiring; it emphasizes resilience and commitment to community values, even when the larger picture feels challenging.

Bronson M, 3A
11/7/2024 11:38:22 am

I agree, it is significant to motivate individuals to inform themselves about politics and candidates. Young adults in this generation have to use their rights and responsibilities to make a difference. The future of this generation has an impact on raising kids, education, and rights. It is the upcoming adults and young adults responsibility to do their research and make a change.

Varela, L 8B
11/7/2024 02:39:46 pm

People should definitely inform themselves about the next elections, they should care about their future and the people who they chose to represent as a leader.

Aiyanyo E 3A
11/8/2024 03:05:08 pm

I agree. A lot of people I know said they didn't vote because they don't "like" both of them. Many of our ancestors have fought hard for our right to vote. So for people who can vote that won't vote, it is really nonsensical.

Castillo,V 6B
11/8/2024 05:54:56 pm

Yes, people should be more informed about elections. This shows that everyone persons vote does matter.

Divine Ojeh 8B
11/7/2024 02:42:35 pm

Hopefully the younger generation can see and understand whats going on so in the future when they vote they could it could take it very seriously because it could have an impact on their future.

This is so true our generation is completely blinded by trump and his dumb antics. They would do anything to not have a women in office.

Fuentez M, 3/A
11/8/2024 11:48:07 pm

Adding to what you said , those who say” our vote doesn’t really matter” makes a huge impact on how the election goes. Your vote does matter one vote can make an impact on who will lead us and take our life in their hand .

Stevenson J link
11/7/2024 02:45:03 pm

I agree with this will be different political issues such as. For first-time voters in the 2024 election—11 by the time the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, rattled the country—that’s overwhelmingly the case. Yet, for all the familiarity with the politically absurd, it’s precisely this group’s relative youth during some of the most shocking and surreal moments of Trump’s first term that lends itself to the natural question: What parts struck a preteen at the time? Did the terms that rattled in adult brains for years—covfefe, Robert Mueller, Sharpie-gate, deep state—mean anything to a Trump-era kid?

Torres C. 3/A
11/8/2024 02:09:04 pm

It's true that all of this political stances, are nothing but overwhelming. However, a trump-era kid does not really exist, they were not personally impacted, their future can easily be changed by another canidate.

Johnson C 8B
11/7/2024 03:01:06 pm

Yes the students interaction in these type of events promotes leadership to the younger generation because even though some younger kids have somewhat to nothing of an understanding,

Espinosa M
11/8/2024 01:51:01 pm

I agree with you on how elections are more than just about who wins or loses; they’re a reflection of our shared values and vision for the future. Your comment about emotions being valid and reflective of what we care deeply about is spot on. Sometimes, it’s easy to dismiss our feelings as overly emotional, but as you mentioned, they show that we’re invested in our community’s direction. Recognizing and embracing these emotions, as you suggested, helps us process, connect, and ultimately stay motivated to engage in positive actions within our community.

Frank Jimenez6B
11/8/2024 09:11:21 am

I agree that increased engagement in political and community affairs would be beneficial. A more informed populace, equipped with critical thinking skills, is essential for a healthy democracy.

Malvaez M, 1A
11/8/2024 12:34:02 pm

With people being very upset with our new president, it will only encourage people to want to vote and to take a stand in their civil lives in order to live how they want to live.

Espinosa M 3A
11/8/2024 02:11:59 pm

I agree with you that it’s essential to allow ourselves to feel whatever emotions come up after an election, whether it’s relief, worry, or disappointment. As you mentioned, these feelings are valid and a sign that we care about what happens next. By acknowledging them without judgment, we give ourselves the space to understand what truly matters to us and to think about how we can contribute positively moving forward. This approach also reminds us that, regardless of the election’s outcome, we all play a part in shaping our community’s future.

Torres C. 3/A
11/8/2024 01:49:58 pm

Our votes do not matter, our votes are only to persuade the electoral colleges. So at the end of the day it does not matter. Your vote does not matter.

Fuentez M 3A
11/8/2024 11:51:41 pm

Our vote does matter , every vote can make a huge difference. If every 18 year old not Middle age But every 18 year old and up voted Kamala Harris who is well qualified in being a president could have made office. Your Vote does matter to make a change. One voice can change a lot . Our generation is the most woke and the most understanding people ever . We are the most logical generation there can be so yes your vote does matter in the end.

Lopez M 1A
11/7/2024 11:13:49 am

The results from this election did have a majority of American citizens feeling disappointed but this will definitely motivate people to take more of an active role in politics and look into why voting matters. Hopefully for the next election the younger generation will take an even larger role in voting. This moment will impact my future because who knows if the propositions and projects the new president has in mind will come true, if they do who knows what will happen to my future and our country.

Bronson M, 3A
11/7/2024 11:31:09 am

I agree, the results from this election have almost half of the Americans feeling disappointed. Citizens will be more motivated to do research and vote because their vote is significant. The next election will have young adults voting to make a difference. My future needs a president who knows what's right and safe for the US citizens.

Lara, S 8B
11/7/2024 11:45:56 am

This country and the future everyone in this country is affected by what the president does and decides to do. This could affect education, health protection, and families. The following generation needs to have to be more educated and take action to go vote. Voting is important from everyone and the stability of this country.

Sanchez, E 3A
11/7/2024 08:50:06 pm

I agree, the president’s actions impact everything from schools to healthcare, so it’s on us to get informed and vote. The next generation has to step up if we want real change. Every vote counts for our country’s stability and future.

Castillo,V 6B
11/8/2024 05:58:07 pm

I agree, this could affect everyone in different ways and yes the new generation should be more aware when it comes to choosing your next president and take action to vote.

I agree, the upcoming generation should take this more seriously and learn about why it’s important to vote.

I agree, people need to realize how much voting matters. The next generation stepping up could seriously change things, especially with everything going on now.

Rodriguez R. 4A

I agree, people need to start being active in politics or in voting and realize how much it will affect us in the future.

Nyamichaba S, 6B
11/8/2024 10:55:42 pm

Maybe the next generation would be smart enough to pick a president that can benefit America a lot. Both of the candidates were not that great and I’m hoping it gets way better in the next few years.

Bronson M, 3A
11/7/2024 11:19:38 am

The outcome of the election has made people upset and happy. My teachers and classmates have a variety of opinions on the recent election. I have family members affected because a couple is the same gender and are together. My own hopes are for less prices, concerns for women's rights and my education is in jeopardy. This might impact me by not being able to get the proper education. It will affect my future with my kids education, our rights taken away, etc. I can make a difference with my emotions and voting.

Lopez M 1A
11/7/2024 11:36:36 am

I also had a variety of opinions among my classmates, as well as realizing that my future education is in jeopardy. This may not impact those who are done with their education but it definitely impacts the both of us. I understand your hopes as well because they are similar to my own but by voting in the next election our vote will matter.

Hernandez, I 6b

Lara, S 8B
11/7/2024 11:54:07 am

Everyone's education is affected, there are so many more people not having the chance to be able to go to school, affecting their goals and future plans. Needing rights to protect Individuals, knowing safety for ourselves and our families. People need to use their critical thinking because elections/voting affects everything.

Stevenson J 8B link
11/7/2024 02:49:43 pm

Trump also appeared poised to sweep the battleground states and potentially even win the popular vote, something a Republican has done once since 1988. That could well impact House and Senate races. “With a Republican majority in the Senate and potentially in the House, his agenda will be easier to achieve,” says Myers.“The United States’ omission from the list of women-led countries continues,” says Jalalzai. “Harris’s loss demonstrates the difficulty women face being elected to presidential positions affording substantial powers and demonstrates the complex role gender plays in American presidential politics.”

Echeverria D 6B
11/8/2024 09:13:10 am

The recent election has stirred many emotions, especially among women and families. Changes in abortion laws are distressing for many, affecting women's autonomy. Adjustments in education and increased retirement age could have a profound impact on our future. It's important to stay informed, support each other, and advocate for rights and opportunities that matter. We can work together towards a future that reflects our values and aspirations.

Colocho J 6B
11/7/2024 03:55:37 pm

We should hope for the best and unite and team up and to overcome it together once in for all.

Thompson, D 8B
11/8/2024 05:07:02 pm

I completely agree with your perspective. The election has definitely brought out strong emotions, and it’s clear that the outcome has real implications for people's lives, including your family and your own future. Issues like women's rights, education, and equality are central to how we live and succeed, and they affect everyone, especially the next generation. It’s concerning when these rights are threatened, and I understand why you're worried about how it might impact your education and the future of your family. Voting is one of the most powerful ways we can make our voices heard and protect the rights that matter to us. Your emotions and your vote can absolutely make a difference in shaping the kind of future you want.

Lara, S 8B
11/7/2024 11:34:30 am

The election has a lot of people upset but In all honesty did anyone expect anything different. There were a lot of people, like minorities, who did not vote. This new generation needs to be more involved and keep up with the election to know who will most benefit them because they are the ones who are going to buying home, having to take care of families, wanting a good paying job and wanting to be successful. Whatever happens during this presidency should open the eyes of people who did not vote because this is the future not only for one person but for millions.

Hernandez, I 6b
11/7/2024 12:03:00 pm

I agree with this. I think this generation should be more involved.

Johnson C 8B

11/7/2024 02:40:39 pm

Definitely agree we should all become more aware and careful with our decisions that will impact our future.

Hayes T 8b
11/7/2024 02:53:24 pm

I agree with you because the minorities now are not taking this situation seriously and they need to pay attention because in 4 your years it'll be their time to vote.

Thompson, D 8B
11/7/2024 11:28:06 pm

I completely agree with your point. Many people, especially young people and minorities, didn’t vote, and that has real consequences. Elections shape the future, including issues like affordable housing, job opportunities, and healthcare—things that directly affect our generation. The decisions made now will influence the world we inherit, and if we’re not involved in the process, we risk having a future shaped by others’ priorities, not our own. Voting is a powerful tool, and staying informed about the candidates and their policies is essential if we want to create a future that works for everyone. This election should definitely be a wake-up call for people who didn’t vote, especially since the choices we make today will impact the next generation for years to come.

Malvaez M, 1A
11/8/2024 12:32:24 pm

People need to realize that their vote really does matter and if they do not vote they will unhappy with their lives later on in the future and begin to regret not doing something while they had the chance.

Renteria R A 4A
11/8/2024 11:19:01 pm

I agree, A lot of people don’t vote because they don’t like the person who is trying to become the next president. But the thing is they still need to vote cause then new laws come out and ends up affecting them in a bad way.

Dralyn Stephens 4A
11/8/2024 02:51:05 pm

I agree our generation should pay more and be more aware of what we are getting ourselves into

Alvarez J 8B
11/8/2024 03:26:27 pm

This generation thinks that politics don't affect them until they're "grown adults" but they'll become adults in a blink of an eye, and then everything around them is messed up. Then it will be too late.

Presas A 6B
11/8/2024 07:32:29 pm

In my opinion I believe this to be true because future generations need to make a difference and get out there and vote they need to voice there opinion and make a difference where it matters and pay attention to which Candidate they would most benefit from concerning there views for which they are campaign for.

Hernandez, I 6b
11/7/2024 12:00:45 pm

The world may be spinning, but the real question is we will be spinning with it? A lot of people take no regard for politics, but to say it doesn't affect people is ignorant. Not to say we should bash each other for our decisions, but rather understand why people choose what they choose.

The outcome of this election has left people with many different emotions. To me, it's disappointing and nerve-wracking because I have immigrant parents and the possibility of one day getting taken is angering. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect that but people should also respect the rights that everyone has no matter the gender, race, age, and ethnicity. In the next election I believe more people should inform themselves about politics and care about the well being of other people.

smith s 8b

I agree, even with different opinions it's important to understand that we're all humans and until the last day it's best for everyone to stay happy and vote for what they believe is right. Even with the results, the least this country needs is hatred and there's an understanding about what's gonna be done and if it will secure our country.

People have had various reasons for being disappointed with Donald Trump's presidency. Some felt that his policies and actions alienated U.S. allies and created international tension. However It's important to note that opinions on political figures can be deeply personal.

It's kind of hard to say because of the situation us teenagers can only help so much it may not be clear on election night either. So we thought we’d ask participants to speculate: what they hope and fear will happen in the election, and how they think young voter turnout will play out. That was the focus of last week’s challenge, and the responses paint a picture of teenagers navigating a highly charged political moment“There will likely be many incidents of protests, unrest, and controversies at various voting centers, and a rise in overall radicalism no matter the outcome.”

Divine Ojeh 8B
11/7/2024 02:37:04 pm

The election is over and alot of people have different feelings. Some of them are happy and some of them are sad and others are scared. Voting is like choosing what we want for our future.

the election has upset tons of people especially people with daughters because women no longer have a choice or say so over their body if a women is a victim of sa she is forced to keep the child because of abortion laws and many more things added after the election it has also affected the learning system in schools. the election affects our future because the have increased the age limit of retirement meaning we could be working until were dead

This election is now over and had upset a whole bunch people but mostly women because now they don't have a choice what to say about their bodies anymore and also feel for the kids who have immigrant parents because sooner or later they will lose them. While the election will affect a bunch of people in a negative way, I disagree that the presidential election will affect you having a good education since the republican nominee was president before and he education wasn't impactted during his administration.

Jones, T.
11/8/2024 03:41:16 pm

But she's right. If they dismantle the Department of Education and enforce the voucher program, it could fundamentally change the foundation of public education in America. Without a central agency to establish and maintain standards, educational quality may vary wildly from state to state, leaving some students with fewer resources and opportunities than others. It could lead to a scenario where wealthier families have broader choices and access to high-quality private or charter schools, while those in lower-income areas face even more limited options and underfunded schools. Public schools, once the great equalizer, might struggle to keep up, and the gap between communities could grow wider. The future of education would be uncertain, with risks of increased segregation, inequality, and diminished access to quality education for all students.

Alvarez J 8B
11/8/2024 03:22:32 pm

I understand your worries sin regards to your education. I, like most people cant predict weather or not Trump will keep all of the promises he's made, but can guarantee that he will ruffle many feathers and cause much chaos to many institutions. if the department of education is eradicated and the various forms of bigotry that affect American education are allowed to fester and grow, then the reality of having a damaged education will almost certainly become too real.

Thomson D 8B
11/7/2024 11:26:56 pm

The recent election has stirred a mix of emotions in people around me, including myself—some feel hopeful and elated, while others are anxious, disappointed, or uncertain about the future. Personally, I experience a blend of hope and concern. I’m hopeful because the act of voting itself is empowering, reminding us that each voice matters in shaping the future, but also concerned about the deep divisions that have surfaced, making it hard to see how we can come together as a nation. In my school and community, I know the election will spark important, sometimes difficult conversations about issues like healthcare, education, and climate change, but I also see it as an opportunity for growth and understanding. Looking ahead, I feel a sense of responsibility to stay engaged, to continue learning, and to be an active participant in shaping the future. The election reminds me that voting is not just about the outcome but about remaining informed and taking action to ensure that the world we create reflects our values. Even in moments of uncertainty, I believe that our collective voice and commitment to progress will guide us toward a better future.

Curlee A, 4A
11/8/2024 09:00:23 am

One problem, the collective voice of America is usually split between two political sides. Hardly anyone who is not a "true" democrat or republican is left unheard. While there is hope for our country, that hope will be ultimately smothered unless we can all agree to disagree, which is essentially impossible.

I agree that every voice matters and voting is empowering because we the people have the power to decide who gets to lead the U.S. We need to be the next generation to make sure we choose what's right and know what's wrong.

While I am proud that others actually voted this year, I am concerned for the people in our country. Mainly, those who are lower middle class citizens and are minorities. It feels as if America is the ouroboros of the world, and that we will always be in a cycle of contradictions. On top of it all, our generation must decide how we want the future to be, for ourselves, and for our country. Just like all things in this world, we must choose to either sink or swim.

The recent election resulted in Donald Trump defeating Kamala Harris, causing a mix of emotions among people. Some feel optimistic about the future, while others are anxious. This moment highlights the importance of voting and how it shapes our future. Personally, I feel a mix of hope and concern. I hope for positive changes and new policies, but I'm concerned about potential divisions. Voting has the power to influence outcomes, emphasizing the need to stay informed and engaged in the democratic process.

The recent election has stirred negative and positive emotion from people around me. I hope that this president benefits us where he specializes in. This result of the election can affect me in the future with the taxes that could either increase or decrease, along with the tariffs that are being placed. This can impact the school with the funding that is being provided at the moment, and the community will be impacted with all the voter sides making drama with each other, leading to a big problem.

Rodriguez Y. 3A
11/8/2024 03:30:48 pm

Taxes are definitely something to look at, specially because the majority of people voted for trump because he "is going to make the economy better," this affects a lot of students in classes such as On ramps, because this means we will have to pay from our own pocket in order to stay in those classes and well for some those classes are the hope that they'll go to college. So this lowers the chance of immigrants going to college.

The results in this election led many people with mixed emotions, with many people being sad and worried about the possible outcomes that will come in the next 4 years. With this election, people will be motivated in the next election to vote and believe that their vote matters. With this new president, our programs to help students money wise with college will be lost and impacts many school across the U.S negatively because many students do not have the income to go to college and will most likely struggle to get higher education.

The results of this election left people with mixed emotions. Some people that I knew were angry and nervous while the other half were being rude and happy with the outcome. Many people are worried for the future, they have no idea what might come and others are excited. I'm on the side of people being worried about what might come. I'm worried for those undocumented parents working hard in the United States for their children and families for years.

The recent election has stirred a mix of emotions—hope, disappointment, worry—because it reflects choices about our values and future. Whether feeling relieved or uncertain, this is a moment of change, impacting not only our personal lives but also our schools and communities. Elections shape policies that affect our daily lives, and regardless of the outcome, they remind us of the power of our collective voice. Even if things don’t go as we hoped, we can still work toward change through community engagement and by advocating for what matters. Let’s use this moment to stay connected, involved, and committed to shaping a better future.

For this recent election, many people are happy and glad because of the results, while many people were sad and angry because of the result. Due to the republican party winning this election, many laws could be undone or changed that was under the affect of the Democrats. Many laws involving the economy and social issues can be better in some communities while others it can be detrimental. While im indifferent for both parties, that might not be the case for other people.

Rodriguez Y. 3A
11/8/2024 02:11:12 pm

This whole election has most people I know on the edge, concerned about Trump taking office and winning the presidency, this feelings worry and disappointment are mainly on the positions that most people took towards Trumps statements. Trump wants to automatically deport immigrants living within the country, this means that people who ran away from a country who's people are probably trying to kill them will be sent back, abortion will not be legal. This means women who needs surgery but may loose their baby will die and suffer. This also means that DEI is gone, which means discrimination is now okay, you can turn someone away if their color is not of your liking. This is sad and upsetting mostly because the Hispanics which were the ones that needed Trump to not be President were the ones that voted for him to be there.

The recent election, has been hard on people to take for what I'm seeing a lot people wanted on party to win and some wanted the other party to win, in my opinion with the election nobody is really going to be happy. The outcome of the election has caused an outrage for many minority groups, due to the fact that many of them are in support of causing change in today's "modern" society". However due to Harris's loss, that future to many, seems to be lost. Any minority group will most likely be impacted one way or another. I think I will be discriminated 10x more than I do now. I still believe that voting is a joke since our votes does not matter but the vote of the electoral college.

Garcia M 3A
11/8/2024 10:13:45 pm

I agree that our vote doesn't count, the polls showed who had more percentage of states and the country entirely but all that was focused on was the votes from the electoral colleges. Due to this trump can now hold office and with that his immigration policy and with the acts for police which allow more chances for non white citizens to be discriminated so much more now just by our name and looks .

I am honestly not surprised on how the election went down but I am disappointed in the outcome. Sure both options had their cons, one more than the other one, but people had to consider their future when voting. Education is a big part of our future even if you don't plan on going to college. If you have kids they'll need education, if you're old and need care your caretakers like nurses and doctors need education. I surely hope that the new president doesn't go through with everything he promised. It's upsetting that people that supported him are so ignorant and uninformed. But im not going to get started on that.

There was a lot of mixed emotions over this years election and what the outcome was with trump winning the election a lot of people are concerned about our future and what it holds. Some concerns are the government assistance people get, as well as women's individual right's with there own bodies. As a concern of mine for our further our generation need to voice our opinions and try to make a difference were it matters for instance our educations, climate change, and social justice. In my opinion I believe it impacts my school and community in various way for analogy changes in leadership may lead to shifts in funding for educational programs or community services. The outcome of this election stir up a wide range of emotions. . For some, it might bring feelings of hope and excitement about the future, while others might feel anxious, disappointed, or even fearful about what lies ahead. Knowing women have now lost their right to their body is sickening . They’re can be many complications during pregnancy that can lead to the baby dying or both the mom and baby.
As for immigrants , they want them deported back to their country. Mostly all immigrants came to here for a better life opportunity and just like that they want to take that away from them.

Kendell Hurrington 4A
11/8/2024 08:52:24 pm

this election caused a great feeling of disappointment within me, but its biggest impact was the way it made me look at everyone around me. To many people this election and the one prior were about choosing the lesser of 2 evils. I had a different perspective, I saw a Candidate who is disrespectful, and rightfully hated my a large part of the world, and to his left was a candidate who was Vice president during a pandemic as well as the second hand to a seemingly Senile head man in office. I also observed the people who supported them. one had followers who would rather die on burning hills than admit they were wrong, that their "morals" were out of date, and that their concepts of reality were totally tone deaf. and the the candidates followers we're of the current generation, varied an opinions and backgrounds and we're constantly changing for the better. But the results are final , so now we must work harder to ensure that the rights we care about dont get violated, the the people we care about dont get mis-treated, and that the freedom who are promised, isant voided.

Galvez J, 3A

I'm one of the many people thinking this election is choosing the lesser evil one. As Trump all in all is a terrible person but his first term wasn't as bad as I thought it would. Although I'm still worried about this term I feel as we have to give it a chance again. Now with Harris she had many opportunities to help the people during her time as vice president, but she just didn't and instead we just saw prices continue to rise. So choosing between these two candidates and living through both their runs choosing Trump was what the people chose.

The election this year didn't surprise me at all this year as it's the same as every other election where people start getting emotional and say that their side is better and why. The election results did cause a lot of concern for many people when they were finalized as they were worried how this would effect them positively or negatively. I usually don't care about the election as i have never been able to vote because of my age and it's out of my power to worry about it, but in the future im going to definitely dig deeper into each side and what they are arguing to see who i vote for as i do see that i can play a role in Americas future and what might happen around by doing something like voting.

This election year was probably the most stressful and the most popular.I have never seen so many people speak out on an election the way people are doing now. A lot of people have come out and spoken on their opinions about both candidates and it has gotten real interesting. Ever since trump won a lot of women have been scared for their rights. As a women I am totally on their side a man should never try and take women’s rights especially since they don’t know how it is to be a woman. It is not just women a lot of other people are scared for what’s to come because they don’t trust a “felon” in office. I’m not really on trumps side either but there is nothing I can do about it so I just live my life and not stress about it so much like other people are doing.

Something I realized that this election brought out is other people being rude to each other and getting into problems because of their beliefs. It is unsure what will come from this election but I do not think fall-outs or any drama should be happening because at the end of the day everyone has their own opinion and they shouldn't be getting talked down on because of them. This years election was really a lose lose situation. Although during Trump's first term the country was pretty good I don't know how to feel about his second one. He is getting rid of many things that help people who are less fortunate than others and people who are different from others and that just has me worried about the country. With Harris it just felt like she was made to lose. She had nothing going for her as people hated her and Biden's run of the country due how bad the economy was. To be honest I felt the same way as most people did about their run so her promises during the debates just felt like empty promises. She had many opportunities to prove something to the people during her run as vice president. So this election felt just really exhausting as both candidates to me were just bad.

Everyone has their own opinion, and I won’t bash or hate anyone what they think or feel. My thoughts on this election did enraged me with the people who are my race as a Hispanic. They did not listen that regardless if you were born in the US you will get deported if the cops pull you over . Immigrant or not you will get deported to Mexico . They only voted the red party because of the fact that the “economy was better” , some people do not know the difference between facts and opinions. This election throughout the entire night left me with anxiety having to fear weighed or not my future will come to see more years . I am scared as someone who shouldn’t be scared and only focus on her college when I can barely do that if This party takes away the funding for education for my kind. My future is in his hands and the only thing I can do As a teenager is post with rage on social media and do a peaceful protest if i won’t be locked up for being Mexican. This economy will look like how it was back then. I had hope for a party who is well educated and can speak correctly without having false information in her mouth everytime she opens it . How can we have a president who can’t even speak correctly? One wrong word he says and it will be over for the US . Our current president is a convicted felon, who has been racist over and over again to everyone who isn’t white . So yes this election made me upset and will make me upset regardless. It will affect my future as a student who is Hispanic and more as a women. The only thing I can hold onto is my education before our current president takes it away too.

The outcome of this election has left me very disappointed in America. People seem to prefer voting for a felon who invokes fear and hatred over a woman who has served in all three branches of government. My main concern is how much of Project 2025 will actually come to pass. However, I truly believe that in 2028, we will overcome these setbacks. Setbacks are unavoidable, but giving up is unforgivable.

The younger generation has a lot of resources, and ways to get the message of voting out there. If we want change to happen it is best to encourage others and signify the importance of voting. It is best to do your own research before hand and to vote for who you think Is best instead of following the crowd. This year I seen a lot of people claiming, if you voted for one side you were "racist", but in the end we should all respect each others believes and should have the right to have an opinion on anything.
